Dallas to reach the Western Conference Finals, and TB to win the Cup. I want two more 1sts, and that’s all I care about.
I'm all about our needs, but I have a soft spot for Calgary. I would like them to make a run, and honestly if it was a Tampa-Calgary rematch i would root for the flames. Personally it would be a stress free finals. I'll be happy regardless.

Lol has a team ever gone into a draft with 4x 1st round picks? **** would be wild.

That’s happened, but no team has ever had more than 7 in 3 years. If either of the conditions happen or the Rangers acquire another 1st at the draft, they’ll be the first.

I think the last team with 4 in a year was the Islanders in 99. 3 of those picks were in the top 10.

Who are you rooting for in the PO? I’m really looking forward to watch Zucc on Dallas and wouldn’t mind them winning it all.

Root for TBL to win it all. Root for Dallas to make it beyond the 2nd round. Root against Winnipeg so they lose as early as possible.

I don't get the "he's out" shtick ... he stepped down as president, but it is said - to no one's real surprize - that he'll stay close in an advisory position ...

so nothing really happened here.
Advisory position. That sounds milquetoast. Nobody has to listen to him.

He can sit close in a rocking chair with his cigar. Like grandpa at Thanksgiving.

He can advise on what to get for lunch.

I forgot about the Islanders. My mind always go back to the Avs in 1998. They had four picks between 12 and 20.

So if the Rangers end up with four, they’ll be in rare company. And as you said, if the end result is 7 in 2 years, or 9 in 3 years, they’ll be in unchartered territory.

I’m not going to lie, I almost want the situation to play out where the Rangers end up with 29, 30, and 31 just for the amusement factor. It’s not rational or best for the team, but still.

I feel like I’ve become so used to talking about the players in the 3-8 range that I almost feel more comfortable with them than Hughes or Kakko now.

Habs under Sam Pollock had some big drafts back in the early 70's ...not sure of 4 in a round or not...but they had a LOT !!! Edit : 1972 Habs had 4 in first round ...Rangers had 2 . Edit : in 74 the Habs had FIVE first rounders.....

From 1971 draft...7 of 14 selected did end up as Rangers at one point or another LOL....

That would shake the foundations of my reality. I honestly wouldn't even know how to react.

It would be a true sanity check but I promise not many would be able to survive it. And it would be amusing to observe. I would wish then we could do side bets on unlikeliest (most unexpected) survivor or goner.

To me it would be pretty easy to root for Dallas and Tampa (between all former Rangers and their stars including a couple of Russians that definitely helps).

Last day of the season, nice to know exactly where we stand. Lose and it’s 5.
Almost perfect scenario that Detroit plays Buffalo. One HAS TO win.
PERFECT would have been the Rangers NOT getting that loser point last night, where we could have hoped for a 3 pt. Buffalo/Detroit game, that would have pushed the BOTH past us and into 4th worst.
At least I think my prediction will be right, as we land in 5th, "assuming" we lose in regulation tonight.

Unless Kucharov gets another point in the last 5 minutes of the game, Tampa will finish with 128pts and he will finish with 127.

Edit: And they give him a secondary assist on the ENG! Anyone see the play if it was a legit assist?

Safe to say, no cup in Tampa this year would be a massive disappointment. They have 21 more points then the 2nd best team in the league.

If they don't we can add them to list of all time regular season winners who couldn't pull of the championship as well.

Red Wings
Mariners
Patriots
Warriors
Jon Cooper's Team

Bruins make it 4-3, 15 sec later Rask let’s in a 75 ft wrist shot by Brayden Coburn.
and that's probably why the Bruins won't go to the cups finals. I just don't think Rask inspires confidence against the likes of Washington or tampa or pitt.

Lots of pressure for sure. I wonder who would they rather play in the first round? Carolina or Columbus
