Sabres-Red Wings goes to OT, giving both a point and passing the Rangers on the log. Rangers are down 2-1 against Pittsburgh with 20 seconds to go. Lias Andersson dumps the puck for a line-change and 2 seconds later, Brendan Smith gets called for a hook and Pittsburgh pulls their goalie on a delayed penalty. Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang, Hornqvist and Zachary Aston-Reece are out there on the delayed call. Passing the puck around, and then back to Letang who misses the puck. The puck slides all the way to the other side of the ice, into the empty net. 2-2. Lias credited with the goal and Rangers finish 6th from the bottom instead of 4th.

We need the Kings to lose today to keep the Devils from moving into 2nd last. If the Kings lose in OT/SO, they'll be below the Devils based on the 4th tie-breaker, total goal differential on the season. Crazy. Also the Ducks can no longer drop below us btw.

We guarantee ourselves 5th last tomorrow with a regulation loss, since one of Buffalo/Detroit is guaranteed 2 points because they play each other and both have more ROW than us.

We guarantee ourselves 6th last tomorrow in these scenarios:
a)Rangers lose in OT/SO.
b)Rangers win and Oilers gain at least 1 point.

We drop to 7th last tomorrow if we win and the Oilers lose in regulation.

I'm with you on this. They had the you know what to take the risks and happy they made the playoffs.
 
Root for St. Louis
Root for Columbus. They would have 98 points. Would pass Winnipeg if they lose.
Root for Carolina to put pressure on Pitt. 3rd in division or WC.
Root for Pittsburgh to get home ice
Root for the Caps to have the Islanders 3rd
Root for Nashville
Root for Dallas to be the 1st WC
Root for Calgary if the Rangers get 2 points tonight
Root for Arizona
Root for SJ to get 101 points. Winnipeg has 99. ROW is close. WC implications with the Avs and Stars

Who are you rooting for in the PO? I’m really looking forward to watch Zucc on Dallas and wouldn’t mind them winning it all.
 
Does anyone believe that it was no coincidence that Sather stepped down before the draft lottery?

Maybe by being out, the lottery balls will magically fall better for the Rangers? Like second overall pick?

I don't get the "he's out" shtick ... he stepped down as president, but it is said - to no one's real surprize - that he'll stay close in an advisory position ...

so nothing really happened here.
