Why would Buffalo or SJ want Donato for a rental?
Maybe they are here to scout Byfield or some other Kings' players ,not Hawks' players?
Did hear Ottawa interested in Donato...so can understand why their scouts are at this game.
Maybe NYI also interested?
Never sure what PHI is looking for???
Could Buffalo be looking at Reichel to re-join with buddy Peterkka?
A lot of teams wantxTich fromBifdaki ...ifvthey trade him for more draft picks maybe they think Peterman could unlock Reichel to his potential?
I can imagine some kind of 3 way exchange of players and picks is a CHI-BUFF-KINGS blockbuster deal involving players,drafted prospects and picks..
But if that all falls through then at least KD could do the 1 (Donato) for an Ottawa 2nd a +3rd or a drafted prospect ?

Donato is a Swiss army knife type player - can play anywhere in the line-up. A great acquisition for any team looking for grit and depth in the playoffs. Of course, Donato isn't likely to be of interest to Buf/SJ though you never know.
Buffalo definitely there for LA

IIRC he was on their short list in 2018 so presumably if some of that staff is still around they've liked him as a player going back some years
