Yes we do. It's #37.

First Round: #2, #18-22
Second Round: #37, #49 (could become 1st) & #62
Third Round: #68,
Fourth: #112
Fifth: #130
Sixth: #161
Seventh: #205

I think that's all.

Tampa’s second round pick will be 58. While the lottery positions don’t hold past the first round, everything else does. Technically that Dallas pick could end up 48 if Vegas or Colorado go to the WCF and Dallas doesn’t.

Zuccarello is going to be 32 when next season begins. Would you allow your third round pick to turn into a 1st round pick just to keep him? I like Mats--I think he's a great player--I wouldn't mind us signing him back ourselves but 3 years would be about the limit and maybe Dallas would really sign him again but he's probably going to want more than 3 years--maybe 5 or 6 years. Maybe Dallas would do that and maybe they'd give him $6 mil or more. I don't know---but I think it would be nuts if they did. If I were the Dallas GM I'd be walking away from him as soon as the season was over no matter how well my team did. The idea that we could end up with two 1st rounders for him is just mind boggling. He's a really good player but it doesn't make sense for Dallas to give up that much for him.

Thanks a lot. It's just kinda strange to me that they determined the conference finals was the cut off point. I wonder why that was.

Because the condition being on the conference finals vs the SC finals doesn’t drastically affect the final location of the pick. The condition as is protects Dallas in the event they go out early and have a decently high pick, and still gives the Rangers an improbable, but within reason likelihood of getting a first. Make that condition dependent on an SC finals appearance and then Dallas is only protected by a couple of draft slots (28-30) and the Rangers likelihood of cashing it in goes down even further. Deal becomes much worse for the Rangers and only marginally better for Dallas, so hard to reach an agreement.

Deal as is, Rangers have say a 10% chance at pick 28.

Condition is reaching the SC Finals, Rangers have say a 3% chance at pick 30.

Yup. It will be our punishment for being too happy with the offseason. Even though we kind of got punished with NJD getting the #1 pick , the fact that most of our fanbase was cool with it means the Hockey Gods aren't satisfied. The Islanders will win the cup. Bet your house on it.
If the unspeakable happens it is PROOF that the Hockey Gods hate us with a passion that is indescribable.

Sorry, I was referring to the reason the NHL determined that making the CF was what would drop you down spots in the draft order. Like for example, let's say Dallas makes it to the next round, but not the WCF. Thus, they've outperformed WPG, but are still going to pick higher than them. Why is that? Wouldn't it make more sense for teams to just be re-seeded based on what happens in the playoffs.

So you have 8 teams out in the first round. Those 8 teams then have the next 8 picks in the draft dependent on how their regular seasons stack up. So on and so forth.

It makes no sense to me why CBJ, Dallas, Vegas, etc. can go further yet still pick higher.

Now i'll root for the leafs to win. Jets pick is pretty much settled in 20 range, DAL only needs to win 2 rounds. I'd rather the leafs win that CBJ, WSH, NYI, CAR, BOS.

Winnipeg should definitely fire Maurice.

Dude’s been there forever, and they looked like total dog**** at times. IMO their roster is way better than the results have shown. Are they gonna trade Laine or Trouba or Connor? Because they should probably make some sort of aggressive move, they have the talent to win it all, yet this is the result.

I will say that they did get a bit unlucky having to play St. Louis who’s been playing like the best team in the West (I think they make the finals), but it’s not a great excuse. IMO Winnipeg has more talent, they’ve just underperformed massively.
I may get crucified for this but AV would have been a great coach for that team.

I think you’re looking at Dallas’ POV from the lens of a rebuilding team rather than a team trying to win right now. Nill’s seat got pretty hot this season, they have almost nothing outside of their top 3 forwards for secondary scoring, those draft picks would be 2-3 years away from being in the NHL (longer to make an impact). And if the roster problems don’t get fixed sooner, Nill’s probably going to get fired, so I could see him making moves that’ll save his ass over moves that are most likely better for the long term health of the organization. Plus they suck at drafting so saving those picks might be worse off then signing Zucc

The further that Dallas goes in the playoffs the more likely they sign Zuccarello this summer - up until they win the Cup because then they don't need him. ;)

Wait why are we cheering for Toronto?

Because to hell with Boston. Outside of Bergeron, there aren't too many likeable players on that team.

Personally, I like Toronto - I saw my 1st and only NHL game at Maple Leaf Gardens, plus they have a young, skilled group... that doesn't include Brad Marchand.

I get that non-Canadians may think that cheering for Toronto is fine.

I promise you, all of the fair weather Leafs fans in hiding will change your mind less than 24 hours after they win the cup.

He's a POS but cheering for Toronto is like cheering for Hitler.

Call it sympathy for their plight of being Cup-less for over 50 years. If anyone knows what that feels like it should be us.

I've never had a hatred for Toronto. Honestly, they've pretty much sucked my entire hockey-watching life and that's saying something since it goes back to the late 70's.

And there's that Marchand prick scoring...

The reason to hate Toronto is the fans, not necessarily the team
