Not suprised by Flyers 2-nothing lead.
Not saying it will happen because their d has been solid but if the Islanders goaltending even fell back down to earth it will become quite the playoff race for them to get in. Washington is winning the division so now they have to focus on just getting in

I think the odds of Dallas winning 2 rounds is extremely low. We'd be better off if they miss the playoffs and we get a better 2nd round pick, then they re-sign Zucc and we get their 1st in 2020.
I was thinking that and I could see that reasoning. It is a long shot so definitely a consolation that the 2nd rounder would be a bit better. Having said that I feel that Zucc resigning especially if he doesn't play lights out is just as much of a long shot.

I really don't think Zucc re-signing in Dallas is THAT much of a long shot. I can see it being a decent chance of happening.

Canucks are garbage on paper and on the ice

Being outshot 46 to 15 right now... jeez.

Of all the teams in the cellar I think the Rangers probably are in the best spot. We've gotten rid of 2 of our top 4-5 players and still somehow are finding ways to hang in there with elite teams. Not that i'm condoning it because you can't really rush a rebuild, but if the Rangers sign someone like Panarin in the offseason and guys like Chytil/Howden/Andersson take a step forward next season I can see them possibly making the playoffs. Kravtsov coming over should help as well. We'd get murdered in the first round, but they really aren't that far from getting back into it

They are fighting hard for every puck, every game. It's clear they are missing some talent, but they are not going belly up as some of the other bad teams the last years. There is still fight in them.

It is a good job by the coaching staff to getting them to keep up the fight, specially for the veterans. The rookies can get by on adrenaline alone, and wanting to show themselves. We can question the abilities of players like Staal, but they are helping
by creating a good atmosphere for the younglings to come into the league. NYR is at the moment far from the cesspit places like Edmonton have been the last years.

But then what? It really all comes down to this year’s draft. If they get that elite, elite guy this year, then I’d be ok with a first round trouncing and a mid teens pick in 2020. If not, I want a pick that gets us the elite player we missed this year.

Again, I don’t think this rebuild ends until we draft a player that puts Zibanejad on the second line. Either that or they somehow piece together a Nashville quality d corps to supplement a by committee offense.

People shit on Boston for giving up on Seguin, but damn.... letting Wheeler go might have hurt them even more. I know it's hindsight since he wasn't anywhere near the player he is now, but they must still be kicking themselves

Panthers looked like they barely wanted to be there in that third. two powerplays in the final 9 minutes and they lose to the Sens at home
Panarin must be dying to join that fun and exciting franchise.

If the season ended today the Rangers would get Dallas' 46th pick in the draft. If Dallas misses the playoffs the Rangers would maybe gain four spots. It would be a minimal gain value wise. As unlikely as it would be, if Dallas won two rounds and that pick becomes a late first rounder, the value would triple.

So much for the Hawks run to the playoffs . Total fools gold trying to win games 8-7 and 6-5 every night
