If Montreal makes the playoffs (obviously not a guarantee they do) Price has to be considered for the Vezina. They are riding him every game right to the end.
As much as I am conditioned to hating hearing about him so much, I have to agree with you. He is carrying them.
Wasn't this season yet another of many where the Habs started fast in October and then eventually hoped reality didn't bite them before the shine wore off depriving them of the velvet fist of a playoff spot?

If the Rangers keep losing in regulation, Buffalo would have the tie breaker in ROW, so Buffalo would be 6th worst and Rangers 5th worst.

Only games of importance tonight are the Ranger game and the Leafs/Philly game. Need Philly to win so they stay in the playoff hunt until the end.

Sorry still laughing about this.

That is how good Connor McDavid is ... you put a dude who just discovered fire on your 1st line and it's still one of the best in the league. Should have last year's Hart trophy and this year's.

Also I don't think I've heard Mikko Rantanen's name in about 3 months.

Well done

If the Rangers keep losing in regulation, there’s a pretty good chance they end up 4th, and with a possibility of 3rd.

You mean Carey-ing them?

I'll see myself out.

Wings have Sabres twice. Need Wings to win both, preferably in OT. Devils play Detroit and us as winnable games. Need Devils to win in OT against Detroit and beat us in regulation.

Lot of results need to go the right way and that's assuming we lose out.

Saw that coming a mile away back at the start of the season when people were going crazy over the Avs. He was on such a ridiculous pace. 74 points before the All-Star break and 13 points post-break in about half the games. He's injured right now.

Damn Zuccarello can't stay away from physical calamity in Dallas. Seemed to get injured again in the morning skate when he was bowled over by Joel L"Esperance. Seems to be ok thank goodness.

If we jump a team in the standings on the last day, I guarentee that team wins the lottery. So if we pass Buffalo on a tie breaker and wind up 5th, the 6th slot Sabres will draft #1... again.

Buffalo... they were #1 in the league at one point, right? What the hell happened?
Most guys itl are are interchangeable, elite talent (as much as we like to whine about lacking it) doesn't buy you shit, and coaching/systems/effort level are what seperates mid tier playoff teams from also-rans.

Buffalo is following the Edmonton / Colorado model. I.e., be completely incompetent when it comes to drafting outside of the first round and fail to surround your elite players with depth and secondary pieces. Not to mention the lack of proficient NHL goaltending. Add a few bloated contracts for good measure.

The underpants gnome strategy doesn't work. It's not: Collect lottery picks, ???, profit. That second step is the difference between a Chicago or Tampa and an Edmonton or Buffalo.

Big games tonight!
  • Detroit Vs Buffalo (Wings in OT)
  • Los Angels Vs Vancouver (Kings)
Detroit would be 3 points behind the Rangers with 5 games remaining. Kings would be 5 points back with 5 games remaining.

Also if the Canes get a point tonight and the Habs win, Philly will be eliminated from the playoffs.

Hope the Jets lose tonight as well.
