If Anaheim would have just won that last game against the Blues when they were up with less than a minute left they would be at 65 points albeit two more games played than us. At this rate we may have more wins than the devils score goals the rest of the way. On second thought that's not really saying much lol

If they fired Carlyle about a month sooner, they would be in a playoff spot still. Crazy game, glad I stayed up for it.
 
Rangers loss with a Canucks and Blackhawks win moves the Rangers down to 26th in the league.

Devils beating the Rangers in regulation and if Detriot wins (Which I doubt since they are playing the Lightning) would put the Rangers 6 points out of 29th.

I hope they win but I can absolutely see them slinking away from a physical team.

Their series agains Washington was absolutely pathetic toward the end. Losing is fine but they looked like they couldn’t have cared any less about the stakes of those games. Gave me AV flashbacks.

I dont see how 2 Cali teams being in top 12 in the league, can drop so dramatically. Was there a cocerted effort to tank?
Did California have a massive earthquake that affected their hockey senses?
I thin it was @Machinehead that stated "funny thing is they were actually trying" to play good hockey. Or something similar.

There is always that chance that they have that "sour taste" left in their mouths from last season. I personally think them not adding McQuaid, could come back to haunt them. Guess they have too many "soft Rangers defenseman" already, but adding McQuaid is exactly opposite of that. Okay, McD isn't too soft.

I also think that is not a foregone conclusion they will have a re-match with the Caps. They could be gone before then.
True, it would be an upset, but any of Pitt, Carolina, NYI, or Columbus could upset them. Especially Columbus or Pitt who ALWAYS figure out a way to get their shit together and in the past, have beaten the Caps more often than not.

Could be a temporary down year for the both of them, but L.A. is aging, Quick not quick enough and not nearly enough.
Ducks with Perry, Getzlaf and Silfverberg to start with, just dont get how they could be even worse than we are after a good last season. Just don't get how they can be this inept and how Kessler would allow this to happen.
