Bad night on the scoreboard. Panthers and Sens lose. It looks like the nice start the Sens had is quickly vanishing so the joy of the Avalanche.
That contract. Nothing can ever be DiPietro but if he doesn't bounce back to those two (admittedly) stellar seasons he had or turn it up in the playoffs, it's pretty horrible. Last year and this year are bad, no matter what team he had in front of him, and injuries are a continuing factor. If he comes back strong on the back half when their prospects mature and are ready to compete, then it'll have been worth it. Long way to go on that one...
Habs fans friends of mine still insist he's one of, if not the, best goalies in the league with regards to skill. I mean, I get it... but these same people call Hank overrated and mocked our contract. I didn't like it either, but Hank is Hank. He earned it and he's been one of the most consistently good to great goalies in the league. We have two years left where he can, hopefully, ease in Shestyorkin with the help of Allaire.

You’d have to wonder if Benn and Seguin want out after these comments. It’s an explosive situation to say the least. It’s one thing to be critical of your top guys, it’s another thing when you just flat out blast them like that publicly. Kind of hard to rectify.

Stars problem isn't Seguin/Benn. Honka and Ricthie aren't reaching their potential. Klingberg missed almost half the season. Hanzal/Polak. Not enough support.

I was absolutely floored when I read what was said. Sometimes guys get called out, It happens, but I can't remember a time when it was this bad. Absolutely 0 loyalty from management to their players here. There are long term effects too. why would any free agent want to go to an environment like that in the future?
Alienate your 2 best players who are both signed to long term deals.

Very few professionals call the media, set up an interview and deliver an off the cuff, emotional message like this. If it's that calculated, it was probably done with the players' knowledge.
The hyped up Hurricanes gonna miss the playoffs for the 10th straight year. They pretty much get eliminated by december every year it seems. They are garbage I don't care how many shots on goal they get a game.

How Edmonton can continue to suck so hard will forever baffle me. It must be such a poorly run outfit to fail year on year to get a semi-decent supporting cast for McDavid.
Hopefully we're pretty stacked in the system when he demands a trade in 2 years.
