I don't know if he was too eager or what but charging at Wilson like that Oleksiak put himself in a very vulnerable position. There's something to be said for squaring off especially when you have a size/reach advantage. Oleksiak didn't do that and Wilson got him twisted around so that he didn't see where the punches were coming from.

I don't like either one of them. Wilson is a larger sized version of Matt Cooke and Oleksiak annoyed the f*** out of me last year when he jumped Brendan Smith because he didn't need to. Smith would probably have fought him even with the huge size/reach disparity. Smith is a little crazy or put another way--a bit of a hothead. To me that was cheap on Oleksiak's part.

Yeah, it's definitely this.

Wilson deserved an instigator on that play, but the refs didn't give him one. In fact, refs haven't given out many instigator penalties this season.

Ok, that makes more sense. The direction of that tweets comments made it out to be him calling for something against Ovie. But Crosby is still talking about nothing, Ovechkin is the captain and has a right to step in.

That has always been such a garbage defense of Sid the Skid. How come McDavid doesn’t get that kind of hate? Many people say he’s the best player the league. For many years Ovechkin was considered the best, and he didn’t get the hate Crosby did. Pens fans just can’t admit it has nothing to do with his ability and everything to do with his shit eating personality, his whining and his diving.
