We have only 9 ROW in 32 games, which is the lowest since 1997-98, while having 5 overtime losses, which is the highest in franchise history after 32 games to start the season

So Claussen is sitting for Smith tonight? Hes been our most consistant dman since he entered the lineup.

There's a few days of looking at the row stat....

The way I choose to read it is...we're good at keeping games close...but don't have enough to take us over the hump. That bodes well.

But...and it's a big but....a huge amount of that keeping games close aspect is predicated on Henrik and Kevin Hayes...2 guys most of us don't expect to be part of the team going forward.

The analytics suggest that we’re f***ing Horrible in close situations (within 1)

We’ve been much luckier than good enough to hang. That’s been strictly because of hank, especially of late.

Without Hendrik we are nothing. Everyone else is just along for the ride.
He should have taken the year off...we drop for Hughes or the number 2 overall then he comes back for cup runs in his final two years ;) Just like chicago will probably do without Crawford if he's out for a while.

On another note, the amount of talent in the league right now is incredible. I don't remember the last time there were this many high-end point producers. 44 players that have played 30 or more games are a point per game or better right now... that's absurd.

Too bad none of them are on this team

Look at all the teams with young stars, it's absurd.

Boston: Pastrnak
Buffalo: Eichel, Dahlin
Calgary: Gaudreau
Carolina: Aho
Colorado: Mackinnon, Rantanen
Dallas: Heiskanen
Detroit: Larkin
Edmonton: McDavid, Draisaitl
Florida: Barkov
NY Islanders: Barzal
Ottawa: Chabot
Tampa Bay: Point, Kucherov
Toronto: Matthews, Marner
Vancouver: Pettersson
Winnipeg: Scheifele, Laine

And then there's guys like Hischier, Jack Hughes. We're seriously one of like 5 teams that don't have a star player lol
