It's gonna take time. But eh. Around the NHL I'm seeing some real surprises. Sabres team is super young but they're holding together, granted Miller is a stud right now. But their young guys are making great chances. Team just needs to finish and they look pretty dangerous

I think Detroit is somewhat on the "rise" if that's what you want to call it. To me they look better on the ice this year than last, but it's only been a few regular games and preseason.

Miller wants another crack at the gold this year in the Olympics. Possibly as the starter.

If he keeps it up he can get it I think. He made like.. I think 44 or 45 saves last night. Kinda makes me a little twisted that his guys couldn't get a goal. Vanek came within inches umpty times in front.

They got buried 5v5 vs Ottawa where the Senators had 60% of the shot attempts. Miller held them in that game.

I really like Ottawa's team, except for their bottom pairing. I think they can challenge Boston and Detroit for the division title. If they resolve their financial difficulties they are going to be a powerhouse in a few years.

I was at the game. They weren't "buried" unless you count the shots percentage and on a limb rushes. But rushes were pretty even. The Sabres had a LOT of good shots but Anderson played well and they couldn't finish chances. Either team was getting caught on rushes. I can't count how many times Buffalo has the puck in Craig's crease and couldn't just get it over the line. Lot of times it was poorly coordinated rebound attempts that saw the puck going wide and out or being cleared before a Sabre got to it. There was good stickwork for either team in the creases though.

However, I highly doubt that the Senators are going to challenge Boston for the division. Bruins are one of the hardest teams to play against and their size + skill will definitely give their rivals nightmares.

That's reassuring for Buffalo fans who expected big struggles. The possession charts indicate that it was a fairly close game through two periods but that Ottawa took over in the third, does this seem accurate to you?

I really think they might actually, they have speed and skill up and down the lineup and Karlsson's overall effect on the ice is IMO bigger than his effect on the scoreboard. With Spezza and Karlsson back plus the addition of Ryan I think they'll be a really dangerous team. The impact of the Bruins' size is IMO overstated and I think they'll regret the Seguin for Eriksson trade.

It was pretty even all game but the 3rd period was a little tilted in favor of the Sens yeah. But Buffalo had their chances. Again, the inability to finish hurt them. They could've won 2 or 3-1 if they could get some in after the initial great shots. But the puck rolled/slid out of the crease or was cleared. Karlsson is a very good player and is an impact one in almost every game. But I still think Boston's size gives them a huge advantage.

Sabres are gonna definitely have a rough year or two. But the kids they have are already showing up to play.

Watching the Jackets makes me miss Dubi, Arty, and Gabs way too much.

No way quick doesn't start unless he completely ***** the bed.

To be fair, Quick had a horrible year last season. Miller has one huge Vezina season, Quick one huge near Vezina season. And Miller has the big performance in 2010 Olympics. The fact that Quick did his 2 years after doesn't guarantee a bid for him this Olympics, IMO.

Meh, i guess we'll see. I just want to see gold anyway. Nothing should be guarenteed as the poster above stated.

Not sure if I want Toronto to continue winning so that when they crap the bed later as they usually do the reactions will be even more entertaining, or just lose now so I don't have to listen to the parade planning.

Do the Rangers not visit Detroit this year? I was watching the Wings feed and they advertised special tickets for original six matchups. The Rangers were the only O6 team not included.

Tampa had 0 shots in the first and 6 in the second. Being outshot 25-6.....
