so Mike Smith is Ken Dryden against us but he allows that **** goal to a rookie 46 seconds in? whatever.
 
This game should get chippy. I particularly like how Torts gets mad at other coaches for playing tough guys at random times.
 
Kyle Chipchura, sniper extraordinaire against us. Takes Pejorative Slured penalties against other teams.

Being a Rangers fan. :shakehead:

Tomas Hertl is a stud though.

pummeling? more like absolutely destroying. The Sharks are playing the Yotes as if they were a bantam team right now.......holy ****
 


For the benefit of you folks without access to the programming up here in our frozen Canadian tundra, Tortorella went a whole 2 games before declaring he doesn't give a **** what the CBC panel thinks.

I love this guy already.

Wait, you have TV in Canada?

Seriously though, I thought Torts was just was the doctor ordered for the Canucks. I think you guys will enjoy him as a coach, don't listen to what people say about shot blocking and other nonsense, they can go watch basketball. I don't quite see the Canucks as contenders, but don't be surprised if Torts gets at least one deep playoff run out of your group.

For the most part we're enjoying his shot blocking and solid D play. Bowness royally ****ed our D corps up with a heinous system. Luckily NYR isn't running a typical Bowness system so you guys are safe (and you don't have Bieksa pinching at the worst times). I also have a running tally of things to not ask torts about:

1) Line Ups
2) Injuries
3) Starting Goalie
4) Game Plan
5) Massey Tunnel
6) Sports Panelist Opinions
7) Reffing
8) Cell phones

Our media is ********* so they deserve every snide remark they get in return. He truly is getting the best out of the players which is what we needed with our 'window closing'.

This is precisely why I thought it was a good move by the Canucks.
 
Are there any games on national tv, NHL network, MSG channels today? I haven't checked the tv gide yet.
 
Can't say much for the Rangers situation (yet) but I won't hesitate to point out that Philly has started the season 0-3 and has only scored 3 goals. I would have figured their offense would have had a much better showing than this after the first 3 games.

Agreed. I think they'll pick it up in that regard. But when they do, the 3 goals per game they're giving up right now is still going to be the same, and they'll still lose a bunch of games. Not very impressed by their D.
