Good for him. Parents must like this. They visit him in Florida.

One of my son’s friends (who plays hockey with him), has been doing this “camp” on Monday’s and Tuesday’s with a trainer my son has worked with before and Vatrano and John Leonard (UMass) have been on the ice working with him.

His Dad said Vatrano looks like he’s in phenomenal shape. I wish him well in FLA, but hoped he would work out in Boston.

Flipped over to NHL Network in between innings of the Astros game and EJ Hradek said he thinks Tavares signs with Toronto and the Leafs become Cup favorites.

He also said he expects Montreal to address their need at center by throwing the Brinks truck at Stastny.

Most of what I have seen has each player resigning with their current club; guess we'll wait and see.

I won't complain if McAvoy plays well enough to earn himself 90 million dollar contract.

Wait a minute, Doughty is a UFA that's why he gets 90M. You don't give that kind of money to a RFA. While MacAvoy has played well he's a ways from earning that kind of contract regardless of what kind of season he has.

They sign Tavares, they will likely trade Nylander for a D.

If they sign Tavares they aren't going to have any money to pay this said D man. Let's not forget that they have both Mattews and Marner to pay the following season He'll have to be a pretty run of the mill player not someone who can make a significant impact on the D corps. Further to that they are going to need more than one.

Many people here want to over pay already. They have four kids. MacAvoy, Heinen, Carlo, and DeBrusk. None are going to make crazy money for their second contract.

Yup. We are 3-4 years away from having to shell out big money to any of them, and depending on how they finally develop, worst case, none of them. If Charlie wins the Norris this season, that might alter things, though

Many aren’t waiting that long to give them money.
