Great googly moogly. He appears to be ready to back up his words

DALLAS — Call it swagger or confidence, Filip Zadina has it and he has a message for the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and Arizona Coyotes, the three teams that passed him over before he went to the Detroit Red Wings sixth overall in the 2018 NHL Draft.

“I’m telling my agent if they will pass on me, I will fill their net with the puck,” Zadina said. “Yeah, it’s just I want to prove [to] them that they have done, like, bad decision. But I’m so glad that I am in Detroit right now, so I just want to prove to Detroit that they have got a pretty good decision.”

DSP showing some serious loyalty by staying with the Caps for $1 mil for one year. That is really good value for the Caps. There is no doubt he could have gotten at minimum $1.5 mil per for 2 or 3 seasons had he decided to leave (and reportedly did pass over a couple what would have been better offers than what the Caps offered).

Yeah but he didn't play after game 1 in the Vegas series, so I was curious what that was about. I didn't pay attention to why.

Actually played in the elimination game 5 over Enstrom and Chariot. (Which infuriated Enstrom).

He was brought in for LD depth, started in the playoffs with Enstrom and Kulikov injured. Now with Enstrom gone, they still need LD depth, and Morrow provides that.

He's got a shot at a decent amount of playing time battling with Kulikov and Chariot for 2 spots on a nightly basis.

Okay- I watched the series but didn't pay that close attention to it. I just remember that all of a sudden Morrow wasn't playing. Glad he got a new deal, though- I always liked him even though he never really worked out for us here. Remember that one poster who called him a "two-way force"?

Honestly I only noticed him because he got into that elimination game at the expense of Enstrom, which was suprising and somewhat controversial as Enstrom had been playing alongside Buff on the top pair.

I always like Morrow and felt he could be a well-rounded 3rd pairing guy who could give you a little bit of everything. Not sure I'd call him a two-way force however.

I don't feel as bad about Morrow moving on as some of the guys the B's drafted. The Pens and Stars both dealt him, so he didn't meet expectations early on. Good for him that he stuck with it and is having some success.

Yeah I think it was probably pretty mutual anyways, given the sheer number of consecutive games he sat out as a healthy scratch, especially in the 2nd half of that season.

Like you said good for him, hopefully he can carve out a few seasons as a 3rd pair/depth NHL D-man.

I wouldn’t be shocked. If he’s involved n a deal, it’s not gonna be for his talent. It’s gonna be part of a deal to help a team get to the cap floor.
