Is it fair to say that sans cups (which is frankly a team achievement) McDavid is on pace to be better than Crosby? Mind you it's not all Crosby's fault since he was injured a lot. I feel like Crosby isn't that much smarter than McDavid (which is saying a lot) but McDavid is more skilled.

As far as natural skill, McDavid is better than Crosby. Crosby is just a tireless worker though

McDavid is a next level skater. He may be the best skater to ever step foot on a NHL rink.

Do you think that Dahlin will play this season in the Sabres?
He looks like he need some seasons to build muscles, but you can say the exact same thing about Lias, or Elias Pettersson with Nucks so he will probably play in NHL. But it can be more difficult since he is a defender which require some physics usually.

I think Crosby has a bit better vision. But as you say, McDavid is more skilled and intense. I’ve come to really admire Crosby’s guts. Dude takes an absolute beating and keeps getting up and producing.

Even with Hossa, Havlat, Spezza, Chara, Redden, Alfredsson, Bondra (for part of a season) and Radek Bonk they couldn’t win the Cup. Snakebitten for sure

They became the reference point in sports for a franchise that is pretty to very good for a number of years but didn't win. Happens a lot more than we think. Blues at different points in their franchise. Sharks. Rangers in the early 70s. Etc. That's always the argument to Neil Smith's 94 trade deadline. If he didn't do it, the Rangers could have been the Ottawa Senators of the late 90s-early 2000s. What he did after 1994 which we've beaten to a dead horse, that was criminal.

Up until last year, the Caps fell into that category too. Vancouver during AV. Ray Bourque's Bruins. Those three stick out in my mind.
