I was reading an article about the Red Wings off-season and their projected line-up for next season and there was a comment that read:

“Note that Robby Fabbri is expected to start the year on injured reserve after tearing his ACL late in the 2021-22 season”.

Good God…that guys ligaments must be made out of porcelain. The doctors are going to need start using cadavers to rebuild Robby, as I can’t imagine there is much material left in his knees to rebuild. I’m going to assume his career is more or less done. That’s a shame. Stevie Y was wise not to trade Armstrong any more than Jacob de la Rose for that fragile little forward.
He should be called Robo Fabricated.

Mac Mac now a Caniac.

The fact that Dakota Joshua and MacMac went straight into FA probably says a lot about how they felt about their opportunities to make this team and stay in the NHL. The Blues are deep, and that's no fun for players who could probably play full-time on another team's 4th line.

Don't blame them. Neither were regulars last year and we look to be deeper this year.

Not sure about that. Leivo might make the team but we signed a lot of guys that look like AHL players to me. And even Leivo has only played more than 40 NHL games one season in his career, and he’s 29 years old. So he’s not a regular either.

We signed a bunch of replacement level guys. And with Toropchenko out until December, I’m not convinced our 4th line is going to be any good yet. I like Acciari but he hasn’t been healthy the last 2 seasons either. There’s legit question marks, so Joshua and MacEachern actually would have had a very good shot at making the team out of camp.

And this isn’t even including the whole Perron thing. Yeah, not seeing how we are deeper at all.

Frk and Highmore ahead of them. Angelo too. Plus since camp last year we added Bitten and still gave brown and Walker. Mac Mac was way way down depth chart. Joshua could have made team if we didn’t sign Acciairi. Neither will be missed.

Mac Mac took a major step back, imo. I don't know what it was with him, but when he lined up for games, he looked completely uninspired.

Total fan speculation on my part, but was he turned off/bummed out that he got passed over last season?

All he had to do was fight harder. Oh well. Good luck Dos Maquis!

Are we going to have both Walker and Acciari on the 4th line? Some people don't think it's important, but our 4th line is getting pretty small.

as long as they have a bit of speed and some forecheck, should be ok, right? mostly lining up vs other teams 4th line for the most part

I was looking at the remaining UFAs and surprised at some of the names:

- PK Subban (he's only 33?!) - most recent cap hit was 9M. His career at this point is just a necessary evil to support his media platform.
- Phil Kessel (I wouldn't want him on my team, because I just don't think he can contribute enough to be worth it)
- Patrice Bergeron
- Nino Neiderreiter
- Nazem Kadri (I think he's going to sign for a lot less than another guy with his stat line would get. And some idiots will say its due to prejudice, when its really just the consequence of his terrible history)
- John Klingberg
- Viktor Rask (he's only 29?!)
- Kris Russell (he's still out there. 35y)

Del Zotto just signed a 2-way deal with Florida. I admire a guy who works hard to eke out every drop he can from a fairly disappointing career. I'm glad he got to be part of a Cup celebration.

Did you know Jaskin has made more than 8M career earnings and is UFA at 29y? And he's a guy that just barely has a spot in the NHL. Pretty crazy. I wonder what will become of him after that fat 1y contract he got in Arizona. He's still out there.

Hard to tell on Jaskin, considering he missed the majority of this year with an injury too.

MDZ's name is stamped on the Cup.

Is it? He didn't actually play in playoffs. Not sure he met the criteria.

It is. I think he met the minimum requirement for the regular season. I believe he played liked 43 games in regular season and if you play in 41 games you get your name on the cup.

It does feel weird, he’s the one guy on that trophy that contributed nothing to the team.

And I just don’t like the guy in general from what I’ve heard about him. Seems like a douchebag off the ice.

It’s not a big deal at all but I actually wish we didn’t give him that fortune of having his name on the Cup.

Weird. Doesn't seem like he met the criteria.
For a player to get their name automatically on the Stanley Cup as part of the championship team must have:

Played half the regular season, which would be 41 games, or
One game in the Stanley Cup Finals

It doesn't say the player has to have played all 41 fans with the winning , just that they had to play 41 games. Such would protect depth players acquired at the deadline to be able to have their name on the cup as well.

Didn't realize that it was 41 games across teams. Makes sense that he would. Don't know how we could have won it without him.
