Can someone please tell me why that after one playoff series in so many years, the Islanders earned "respect". It's ridiculous. If they make the playoffs again next year, then alright, they get my respect. But as of now I'm 50/50 on the "respect" part.

You must not have watched that series at all. One period last night and the way they moved the puck, finished checks, and did all the little things a good team does, you could instantly see this team is no joke.

They are a fun and exciting team to watch in all honesty. I was very, very surprised at how well they played. Outcome aside.

Ive watched the entire series actually. They did play great but they are making them out to be the next powerhouse of the league. Give them a few years to prove that, not one year.

Dunno if it was posted but i just saw this and...

Wow, what an anthem singer at Air Canada Centre. He did a fantastic rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Lots of applause.

Kessel has been a decent playmaker the entire season. Of course, all the knee-jerk folks who just want to put down that trade would never admit that the Leafs got a young player who has the kind of shot you rarely see. All they talk about is Seguin, Seguin, Seguin. They do not realize that Kessel is young, and that he has already learned to be a better backchecker.

That was awesome. He is a great anthem singer and puts emotion in both anthems.

Kessel is much better than Seguin.

Easily the most crapped upon star player in the league.

Jagr accidentally collided with Reimer, came back to Reimer to tell him he didn't try to run him.

Watch Jagr snipe one on him soon...LOL

Pulling for the Leafs here. I find myself inclined to like their team and fans.

Misery loves company. :D

The coaching change was a big reason for the Leafs becoming something other than a joke.

If Burke had stopped making himself the story all the time (and hiring Ron Wilson who was not a good coach for the young Leafs team) and alienating people, he may have been enjoying this now.

I want Leafs so I can schillack my life savings to go to Rangers playoff game.
