Kreider++ would be what the Bruins will ask for IMO.

Don't see any way the NYR could acquire Marchand with the manner in which this team is presently constructed, as his cap hit is 4.5 million. Kreider is 1.325, so who else is going with him FROM THE PRESENT ROSTER??

same here but don't tell that to the collective kreider fans ;).

I wanted to trade Kreider for Marchand 2 seasons ago. Marchand is a special player with much more natural talent and vision for the game.

After he put up a 40 point, 20 goal rookie season. Not much of a leap to say you'd rather have Marchand then.

And didn't you go on a whole spiel about how you don't want crybabies, divers, etc, on the team? Marchand is the poster boy.

Sure but Marchand is a 1rst line player. All is forgiven if you produce. Maxim Lapierre is just a 4th line pest.

also read through the thread on how some proffered an unproven Kreider at that point. That's what I was arguing against

If that's true (and who really knows) he deserves any flack he is getting for that. I am all about him being a 21 y/o kid wanting to have fun, and understand not being a robotic "consummate professional" at that age. But if you can't get your act together during the SC playoffs to help your team win, that's on you.

Same way I felt about Radulov/Kostitsyn during their supposed incidents. Have fun. You're humans. But lock it down and get it under control when you're trying to chase a Cup.

Yeah I don't care too much about it, majority of NHLers party and it's probably that way with a lot of pro athletes. But you gotta know when to tone it down and focus.

I'd give up a lot to get Marchand on our team. Good thing I'm not GM.

Considering Taylor Hall was the 2nd leading scorer in the West behind Patrick Kane, was on pace for shattering 90 points and outproduced Seguin by 18 pts in 3 less games played, I'd say he was leaps and bounds better than Seguin last season. He's always been the best player in the draft IMO.

Plus he has Messier-esque cranial features...

I'm extremely miffed we couldn't come to terms with Winnipeg to get Burmistrov.

My belief is that Winnipeg's asking price was astronomically high and that no one wanted to pay their price. They would have rather let him go to Russia and retain his rights rather than lose him for good for pennies on the dollar.

Is it just me or are the Devils putting together an old and slow team?

They don't have any depth in their system. Gotta fill those holes somehow.

They have 7 mil in cap space after trading Tallinder, but they still have to sign Henrique and Josefson. Josefson will be cheap but I could see them overpaying Henrique.

And they need another dman, which will probably be Zidlicky. He's 36. They already have four 35+ contracts on the roster.

If Schneider doesn't play like a #1, they are in big trouble.

I hope those players like getting their checks a little later than other nhlers....or perhaps they can accept barter.

That's a pretty good contract. 2.75 million/season.

agreed. they need to spend the money, imo. and he's still rather young, too. produces a little bit. and agree that it's gonna be hell playing against him and Matt Martin. that's a guaranteed 5 hits each, at least, in 1 game.

Those are the types of guys I would love to have anywhere in the bottom-6. Even if one of them is a 3rd liner, I'd be ecstatic.

Clutterbuck is a 3rd liner, imo. averaged 12 minutes of ES ice time last season. not that that's what completely makes up a 3rd liner, but he was definitely being used like one in Minnesota. FWIW, Mike Rupp is 3rd on the RW depth chart in Minnesota now.
