Around the NHL [Jets re-sign Little/Wheeler/Bogosian]

According to an NHL source, the Bruins sent forward Tyler Seguin, center Rich Peverley and defenseman Ryan Button to the Stars for forward Loui Eriksson and prospects Reilly Smith, Matt Fraser and Joe Morrow.
 
I feel like while Dallas got a kid with amazing potential, Boston won this trade. Loui is a proven star caliber player, morrow is a blue chip prospect and Fraser will fit in perfectly. Hell of a trade for the B's.

agreed... Fraser will fit with Campbell and Thornton on the 4th line... Fraser is a solid young 4th liner...
 
I think it's a great trades for both teams. Eriksson, while not physical, will fit in nicely with the great group of two-way forwards the Bruins have. Meanwhile, Dallas will probably try Seguin at center and could have a great #1 C for many years. Maybe we'll see a Benn-Seguin-Nichushkin line soon.
 
Loui Eriksson will be 28 in 2 weeks (and had a pretty poor season on an albeit very poor team).

Like the Stars taking a chance on Seguin, and he's most certainly better slotted as a Center.

Horcoff is off to DAL. Believe it's for a draft pick. TBA. Horcoff has a $5.5M cap hit but has 2 yrs remaining at $4M and $3M, respectively.
 
If the Bruins can trade Seguin and Peverley to improve their roster, the Rangers can trade Del Zotto and Boyle to improve.

Trade Del Zotto and Boyle for a young stud forward and depth defense.

With recent production trends, yes.

Loui Eriksson has an excellent contract, but statistically, a case can be made Eriksson has hit his peak. Increasingly, rosters will continue to skew younger.

6+ year age difference between the two key components of the trade is noteworthy.
