Oh my God, I'm watching the Buffalo Sabres game through the links provided in /r/hockey for VLC streams.

The quality on this is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Wow, I'm honestly astonished.

IDK what I am doing wrong, shouldn't the links provided work? VLC says it can't read that format. Taking link from step one of directions.

All that **** made no sense to me. What I did was open up quicktime instead. Then go to file - open from location - and straight up just paste the link from the game day thread into the box, and it worked.

If that doesn't make sense, PM me.

Nah it makes sense. Should have worked the way I was doing it, have never had VLC tell me it can't read that format. Used that last playoff's I think, or the year before. I have hockeystreams so it doesn't matter I just wanted to check it out.
 
Barring a comeback, the Edmonton Oilers will once again retake their spot as their worst team in the league.

It's kind of sad. Eakins was meant to be the messiah who finally puts together the masterpiece that the collection of high draft picks are expected to be. At the 1/4 season mark of the season, they're at .238P% with a squad that barely plays like an NHL team.

They have plenty of talent, something else must be going on. Wonder if they lack leadership or something.
 
Detroit has 7 ot losses and the rangers haven't lost in ot yet

John Scott just called Phaneuf "Princess Phaneuf" in his post-game presser. Apparently Phaneuf bailed out of a hit earlier in the game? I'm not exactly sure what happened.

Anyway, cool to see the continued fuel on the fire in that rivalry, despite the Sabres struggles.

If Oilers management put Eakins in as a saviour, then it just reinforces how incompetent they are. I say 'reinforces' because it became apparent some time ago that Kevin Lowe is not very good at his job. Eakins is not going to turn around a squad built like that in 20 games, it is ludicrous to expect that.
I hope Lowe loses his job, and Eakins keeps his. That would be most helpful to the franchise. Any GM with a good track record would have already been getting the Oilers franchise slowly but surely turned in the right direction, step by step.
