I just heard on the radio that the scuttlebutt among top goal tenders in the league is that they cannot believe that The Rangers are playing checken with Henrik's contract. And the the icelanders could very well be licking their chops waiting for Sather to screw this up.

Should we be worried?

Of the Islanders and Henrik? The Islanders can lick their chops all they want, they lick there chops with UFAs every year.

We might lose him but I wouldn't worry. We haven't seen an elite goalie win in it all years. The Roy/Brodeur/Hasek standard turned into the very good/hot at the right time tandem.

I don't know how I feel about giving lundqvist north of $8m until he is 40. And turn the isles situation around... why can't we steal Schneider from the devils in two summers? Use the extra money on scoring.

I'm sure the Islanders are licking their chops, but I don't see Hank winding up there. Sather screwing up would be paying a goalie $9M+ until he's 40 years old. Sure, the cap will go up, but as we've seen in the not so distant past, the cap can certainly come crashing down as well.

People worried last time and they got a deal done in February. Just like in '08 Lundqvist wouldn't be signed to a new deal before January 1st anyway. I'm not worried.

Find it highly unlikely that Lundqvist would sign with the Isles. Unless you know he enjoys awkward situations and posting people off. I know, I know millions of dollars and blah, blah, blah. I just don't see him signing with them.

Colorado, who finished 2nd to last and won the lottery last year are 12-1.

It should honestly not come as a surprise to anyone. Team last year had a terrible coach who couldn't control a team full of party boys who cared about getting wasted more than getting the win.

Roy comes in, Lays down the law and sits these ****ers down and a few guys are gone in the off-season and suddenly other guys besides duschene and landskog start contributing.

Biron on TSN today apparently. He's definitely one of the more entertaining people who I'd love to see on TV.

They are also playing way above their heads and relying on inflated percentages. They will make the playoffs thanks to their hot start, but I'd be surprised if they make it out of the first round based on their underlying play.

So Yakupov for MDZ + 1st + what?

Seriously though, gotta figure they want McDonagh 10x more than MDZ.

I really want the Islanders to crash and burn this season with their fans feeling so high and mighty after their success last year.

This makes me so happy, because it means the rivalry is truly back :) :)
