Chico is in full blown excuses mode. Diff between him and Joe. Joe is making injury excuses for the other team all night, Chico is making excuses for the Devils.

God it's just excuse after excuse for the Devils. Chico is the worst. Enjoying watching this asskicking, even though the ice isn't that tilted.

What did everyone think of Chico saying that Parise (an excellent, but at that point not a superstar forward) was worth more than Suter (easily a top 5 D-man)? Am I the only one that thinks he's out to lunch?

Don't like the Devils. That was a nasty looking injury. In a way you hate to see that to a young kid in his first ever NHL game. That ****ing sucks. Friends and family are all going to be excited and tuned in to the game and that **** happens. Not sure if he stepped on Mitchell's stick but it didn't look right the angle he was heading towards the boards in. He was going down hard anyway I think.

And they're *****ing over at the Devils boards. A lot of finger pointing at DeBoer but honestly to me the problem is Lou and has been for quite a while. He's stuck around too long--allowed too many of his players to get too old--they've got very little worthwhile on the farm or developing elsewhere. Their drafting the past several years has been bad. Merrill is really the best prospect they have IMO. This summer the Kovalchuk thing--quitting on them and Lou thanking him for his service was just surreal--bringing in Jagr, Clowe, Ryder--maybe you take a chance on one of these guys but all 3? They're all old--Jagr is ancient now and Clowe's health is a real ? mark. It's because they don't have the depth on the farm and they do things like give Zajac a long term contract for big $ like he's a legit 1st line center and Clowe gets about the same for 5 years. This should be on Lou--not on DeBoer.

Don't care where the blame lies, as long as it continues. It's definitely not DeBoer, however. Their roster is pretty bad.

The real kicker with Lou is how many big players he has lost for NOTHING in return. That is seriously bad news as you can't lose players like Parise for nothing to FA and just shrug and go "oh well". And then he thinks he's slick and trades for players like Sullivan and Matt D'Agostini hoping they'll all of a sudden come to life on the team. Doesn't work that way Lou. He needs to be gone, but Devils fans would NEVER call for his head.

Ottawa are incredibly top heavy. After Michalek and Ryan (very streaky) they have no reliable goal scorers. Spezza is an awesome player, Turris looks like he'll be good, and then who else? Zibby is still young, Conacher is insanely streaky, and their D isn't good enough to make up for their forward corps being thin. I will say though, they have a lot of good role players. I'd love Zack Smith or Chris Neil on this team.

Ottawa traded away alot of young depth to get Bobby Ryan... Similar to what the Rangers did to get Nash. it looked good on paper, but they need to get some additional depth before they are a true contender

Don't know how anyone could blame Pete Deboer with a straight face. Look at that roster. Lucky to have 3 wins.

Why blame TheBoar or Lou? This is worth celebrating from a Atlantic Division rival standpoint.

I hate the Devils just as much as everyone here but how about we actually beat them head to head before talking trash. That team has had our number the last couple of years.

Outside of the playoffs I believe we have a winning record against them the last couple of years.

We beat them in 3/4 meetings last year. You can't just ignore a whole season series

You also shouldn't ignore how horrible we looked in the first meeting this year. A season series is also pretty insignificant compared to the eastern conference finals. If we would have lost to them in the 1994 ECF, would it have mattered that we were 6-0 against them in the regular season?

They beat us in the conference finals when it really mattered. They also beat us this year in a game where we looked pathetic.

The conference finals team was completely different. This year we slept walked through the game, especially Lundqvist. I have a feeling if the Rangers played the game now and if they actually gave a ****, it'd look like it did he last 2 games last year when we won 4-1 and 4-0.
