Funny that Tampa gives a thorough anatomical breakdown while we were stuck with "somewhere between his bellybutton and big toes" on Quinn 😂 Hope no one slashes Sergachev's shins in the future due to this this opsec breach.

I'm kind of assuming Quinn has a similar injury considering the leg trapped under and twisting. Although he didn't require the stretcher.
Good use of the term OPSEC.

The real story here isn’t the cheap shot. It’s the hilarious lack of respect a rookie has for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The lesson that needs learning is on the other side of the argument.

This league and sport are so stupid at times.

I love how Rielly is some how enforcing a “code” and teaching a lesson. As opposed to throwing a hissy fit because they lost and he was butthurt.

Bush league by Rielly. You want retribution? Take a number and next time you play, get him during the play. That's how you enforce the code.

Hitting the guy after the play like that ain't it.

In a sport that still allows fighting, the response of Rielly throwing his gloves off and going after Greig would have been at least within the spirit of the rules and norms of the game. What he did was dirty.

Now if only Grieg's head had been at waist height, it might have been deemed legal.

Just looked at the standings and saw the Canucks have the most points in the league. Good for them. I hope they win it all. IDK how they'll hold up against vet teams in the playoffs, but I like the fact that they turned it around without having the blow up their entire team.

Canuck fans were shitting all over JT Miller a few years ago too.

At the start of last season, just over a year ago.

Also note that Vancouver has changed four of their defensemen out in the last 18 months without really breaking the bank and have made 7 trades since camp opened. In a world of "it's hard to make trades", be an Allvin.

I love how much this makes sense while also being really dumb.

Barnaby is right about Grieg, and back in his day jumping the dude was an appropriate response. I don’t think the league should have that mentality, but whatever, if he’d just grabbed him that’d be a different thing.

But dude should get 10 games, because that was Hunter/Turgeron without the bad luck of injury. We shouldn’t be in the realm of allowing another Bertuzzi incident, shit like this gets too close for my liking.

The response, getting angry? Sure. The method he responds? Not okay in the least. Drop the gloves - though I would estimate that Reilly wouldn't because he's going to get rocked if he has to square up with the gloves off.

Also, the level of effort in this image is amazing:

Pssst. That was the code the whole time, kid. Whiny man babies who can’t take feeling bad so they lose their shit, that’s real toughness there.

That’s a great shot of Rielly floating back in the play.

Jumping him would have been less dangerous than a crosscheck to the head/neck. Dropping the gloves on approach would have given Greig a chance to defend/brace himself as well.

Imagine how much of a scumbag you need to be for Barnaby to be more honorable in his conduct.

I would imagine Greig would also mop the floor with Rielly too. Which is probably why he wussed out and went clubbin'.
