There hasn't been any release that additional individuals are facing charges at this point in time. The Globe and Mail article only indicates the five in question, four of who were NHLers and Formenton who had been exiled to Switzerland.

Oh I know. But it wouldn’t shock me if they are just ignoring the other three as they weren’t on that team and are less interesting. The media man!

In other news, it's not surprising that the usual league water carriers are all running with the Utah expansion stuff instead of the Hockey Canada stuff. Friedman, Lebrun in particular.

The media man! Pretty bad

I wonder if Tampa knew which was why they moved on from all of the members of that team they had in their system (Foote, Katchouk, T. Raddysh) when they had the opportunity.
"Know" might be too strong, I think it was they felt there was a real possibility of this happening and they felt the risk/reward of keeping them was poor.

I wonder if I could get Netflix or Amazon to green light a pitch for a "Fugitive 5" series, where the accused go on the run and see who can last the longest eluding capture.
They could have all gone to China or Russia to play hockey.

My brain is mush so I was expecting Gallagher to get hit so it was a surprise when he randomly throws his elbow at the player about to skate behind him.

Agreed, his obtaining the puck then complete surprise at a whistle being blown is the icing on the cake of a completely ridiculous and unnecessary play

The original lawsuit named 8 John Does. Wonder why only 5 are facing charges.
I've heard stories that one of the 8 was a player who was told it was a pizza party, showed up, saw it wasn't quite that, and "nope'd" out of there. Not going to engage in speculation on who though I've seen that as well. Wouldn't surprise me if the other 2 were also bystanders who maybe didn't actively commit the crime, but didn't do anything to stop it either. Not sure about Canada law but I could see that being something which could be pursued in a civil case, but not in a criminal case.

More expansion? Awesome, more watered down hockey should keep the sabres out of the playoffs for 5 more years.

Owen Tippett extends with the Flyers for 8 yrs x $6.2 MM AAV. Probably gives us a window into the market for Mittelstadt's next deal. Both late-ish bloomers with similar draft pedigree from the same draft, with Tippett being the better goal-scorer and Casey the better playmaker. I think Mitts would probably be looking for a smidge more ($6.5-ish).

That's pathetic. It's a targeted elbow to the head. It's not during the course of an attempted legitimate hockey play. It'd be so easy to just slap him with 20 games to underscore how unacceptable it is.

Agreed. Unreal how that department continues to stumble about with so regularly an inept grasp of reality.

Young parents, DON'T LET YOUR KIDS PLAY ORGANIZED HOCKEY ANYMORE
