You look at the top scorers and, by and large, you know what you'll get over an 8 year term. Barring injury/extreme drop off, if you sign a 80 point guy in his prime you're likely getting 70-80 points every year of that term. But with goalies, even the best over an 8 year stretch will look like a Vezina candidate one year and then follow it up with a year that you wonder what the buyout cost will be.

Why is Swayman worth 8M+? he's played 44 games for the most of any season he's played? he's never done 60+ games in a regular season. Does that mean goalies that can play 60 games are getting 10M now?
