Dude did it on purpose. That is what makes this all so much worse. It could have been avoided if Petgrave didn't act so recklessly...

Edit: Also, those announcers laughing at this dangerous leg kick are pathetic.

Petgrave is a kid if you're like 70 years old. And yea, you actually can. Saying that an action is manslaughter on an online forum is not libel, don't be a naive goofball.
 
Bruins fans can go f*** themselves. McAsshole got 4 games for head hunting Ver-however you spell it and actually rocking OEL? That's not only intent twice but it's f***ing twice in the same f***ing game.

Imagine if you did that in real life. "Hey Judge I only killed for the first time, can I get a week of jail time" and getting it.

4 games just because it's his first time is f***ing dumb. This is why this league is just so f***ing archaic and will never understand why they can't grow the f***ing game the way the other big leagues can. Morons in leadership.

I mean let's for a second discuss the bs we do see in the NHL that barely gets punished shall we?

Trouba and his entire head shot career
Wilson and his head shot career
McAvoy head hunting twice in one game and getting only 4
PK Subban and his entire career of slewfoots
(let's not mention the rapists, revenge porn, racist remarks, hiding sexual assaults, sexual assaults, etc that players have committed and still play)

All can be brutal injuries, sure not resulting in death but one can argue the head shots is robbing you of a healthy life after hockey and it's treated as a joke.

This bloke is someone everyone wants to hate. I don't think he meant to hit him with the skate and sure he wanted to get his body at him somehow and did it in a dumb way but this need to insert your own narrative into his intent to hit him with the skate is just f***ing pathetic by anyone.

To me he missed his check and tried to get his body on him anyway and did it in a very poorly timed way and it resulted in something no one ever wishes to see, the fact that so many are going real in depth for blaming for the lad is just f***ing sick.

I liked AJ as a prospect. You can dig up posts where I advocate a f*** ton for him back then and my anger towards Sully because of it. I'm as angry and sad about his death as the next passionate fan. But to go down the route to blame the player for purposely trying to kick him in the neck or otherwise?

I never said he purposely tried to kick him in the neck. What I said was that he tried to impede Johnson's progress by carelessly kicking him which, due to the fact that skates are basically razorblades, can lead to tragic consequences. I don't believe he meant to kill him / slice his neck, but what he did was extremely dangerous and resulted in AJ's death. That clip of him in the OHL clearly establishes that he has resorted to these dangerous tactics in the past, strongly supporting that he did in fact intentionally swing his leg at AJ to impede his progress.

Yeah, basically said his hip resurfacing injury was f***ed up and has been bothering him since 2022.

Always seemed like a really nice guy (also f*** the Caps). I hope he can sort his stuff out and have normal mobility and stuff after hockey.

I don't know if you're joking, but I agree with you 100%. It was f***ing absurd that a team like Arizona got blasted for inviting draftees to private workouts, the Devils got blasted for Kovalchuk's deal, and now Ottawa's losing a 1st for some dumb contract technicality but the Hawks' role in what happened at the NHL level and then to high school hockey players is f***ing mental, man. :laugh:

It's unreal how dumb NHL teams are with this coaching/GM fraternity, man. As soon as Sullivan's gone, whenever that may be, he'll be scooped right back up if he wants to jump back into coaching--despite probably being like a decade into 1st round exits and missing the playoffs entirely.
