I hear Dorian might be getting fired. Hopefully Dubas doesn't resign from Pens and get hired by the Sens. That was the team he wanted to go to wasnt it?

So that Gang Rape by Team Canada - they're never going to hold those players accountable huh?

The fact that this has taken this long vs the Hawks investigation that was even further back with more info and people to interview and gather info makes me think the slow playing is par for the course for athletes and sexual violence being minimized.

The new owners finally taking ownership control and what not was always going to result in Dorian being fired but it also didn't mean Dubas had a free shot at a job that was his for the taking.

Andlauer has his own group for his old boys club he'll be implementing.

Biggest news about the McOverrated injury is missing the Heritage Classic.
Me, baffled as to how a "one to two week injury" created headlines about missing a game that usually takes place in March after consulting the sched: oh, hallelujah, I haven't completely lost my grasp on time

Caps are pretty bad

But I still have the Devils penciled in as my Cup favorite. If I gambled, I'd put money down on them
I'm currently weighing an option of seeing the Pens host the Devils as part of my Turkey Day See All My Favorite People catch-all trip.

Put up a 10 spot tonight, Avs, help me out!!

Yeah, delving into the Pinto situation is both refreshing on the accountability perspective and enraging from a "at least it's not SA (AGAIN)" perspective.

Oilers looking surprisingly close to fire the coach again bad.

Oilers sucking again...love it. Now trade your 1st round pick and finish dead last.

Sucks about Brannstrom though...he got Cluttertrucked.

That Clutterbuck hit was clean and just unfortunate how that lad fell. Cal didn't even push him down like some tend to in a hit like that. The way his head hit the ice, awful. Hopefully he's ok and can resume his life like normal and continue to play.

Thing with Woodcroft and Co is they saw their defense sucked. Tried to change the system from man to man to zone and it's been an issue as I'm guessing actually having to play smarter is hard for a team that relies on Mcdavid chasing empty nets and stacking the top line to out score as much as possible.

While I hate the franchise, the wise thing is to keep the coach at least until December/January. If it hasn't turned a corner and a few line up changes to fix the pairings, then toodaloo.

Blues are also going through the same issues. Changed up their entire defensive structure and are working through it.

Sullivan is like "change? Like in mah pahkets?"

Won’t make a difference unless you bring in a coach like Babs. Players know the coach is the first to go and they don’t have to be accountable.

17 points in 6 games from Hughes.
Rookie year 21 points in 61 games lol.
Too bad hes American, if he was Canadian than he'd be good at hockey. :sarcasm:

I find it comical how horned out these big leagues are about gambling and then act shocked young lads aged 19-22 are having issues with it and what not.

Remember when blokes were mad about micro transactions and then they just gave up? Outrage that led to no productive changes at all, just companies waiting it out knowing tossers will move on to the next momentarily triggering issue.

The issue with the Sens lad is, he's 22, gambling ads are plastered on the boards, his f***ing helmet and jersey, every sports channel, social media with uber attractive women talking to you about the betting line, etc and somehow they're mad he fell into the trap they're trying to get everyone else into.

What was the expectation here? Hey look at how we're marketing gambling and openly discuss it and even horse betting, but oh no! You got intrigued and addicted like millions of others? f*** you! Here's your punishment.

I'm not a gambling person, frankly I've always been the invest and work my ass off and grow my funds sort of wanker, but my brother is really into it and I see how consuming it can be, luckily he's never had a really bad problem with it but I've seen some nights where it had the look of one.

I remember when we used to read about some teenaged bloke that stole his parent's card and bought and sold a bunch of stocks, I remember a lad killed himself because of losing 20k or something. It's comical to me where all of this is glamorized with a ton of allure and sales marketing behind it and the repercussions mean jack shit. Sure accountability is important to punish Pinto, but they waved that juicy steak in his face his entire adult life and he finally took a fat bite and paid for it. But the blokes that waved it in front of him, get nothing.

Hughes had the look of a lad that needed to add size the more he played. He figured it out last year. What he's doing this year should be shocking to idiots mostly.

I mean even just stating his rookie year is dumb.

Those are his incremental jumps each season stat line.

Duh?

All three brothers are insanely talented. Sully would have made Jack learn how to play 4c first though. Luke is still too lanky. His brothers are shorter at under 6' and weigh almost as much as he does at 6'2". I think once he adds a little more size he will be comfortable, I'd still see him finish at around 30-40pts but next year he'll turn into that beast topping 40-50+.

In my most cynical view, the NHL is grateful for the non-SA issue, and this kid gets to be the sacrificial lamb.

Society at large - if very imperfectly - isn't *marketing* SA at every turn as acceptable. Betting? Have at it.

He doesn't have a spouse or kid to pull in, and hopefully his parents aren't enablers - I sincerely hope he gets help during this extended ~break~ and comes out the better for it, but as I said before, this situation is infuriating from a 'look what we'll actually punish!!!!' perspective.

Priorities are SEVERELY out of order.
