Zegras was benched for the entire 3rd period. Sounds like things are going to end sooner than later between he and the Ducks with his contract situation and now benching.

I think the dude's pretty skilled and fun to watch from time to time, but I don't think he's really *that* good. I can understand the Ducks' reluctance to hand him a big contract.

Hes good. Someone trying to make an example out of him is going to be regrettable for the team, not him.

Did you see what their coach is doing with Carlsson?

I'm always skeptical about how far a team will go with Ruff as the coach.

Laviolette, on the other hand, might turn the Rangers into a sleeper team. Unlike Gallant, he implements structure, and the players are buying in. Plus, having a goalie like Shesterkin helps. Yes, he wears out his welcome, but that's a bridge they'll cross when they get to it. He is the right coach for where they are.

What's he doing?
They're giving him the same treatment Stamkos got when he first hit the NHL. Basically they don't think he's ready for full time NHL duty but they also want to be the ones to guide and develop his game as opposed to sending him back to Sweden or whatever.

Somehow that's more severe then headshots that can potentially end players careers. :shakehead
Reason being is gambling is written into the CBA. Players will never agree to hard rules on suspensions, hence why the fine amounts are a joke.
