Around the NHL 2024 25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

they've had a pretty soft schedule as of late. I understand that they have a few wins over some great teams, but over the last few weeks it's been mid and below: NSH 2x, ANH 2x, CHI, PIT, and couple mid teams in MTL and VAN, the schedule really softened for them to facilitate a win streak.
And if they're playing above their heads to make the playoffs, they could really have a sag if they do - it's looking like it might come down to game 82.

The Blues haven't been a fluke. They are one of only 3 teams to beat the Kings in Crypto this year. It was those back to back wins against the Kings that kept them in the race, before capitalizing on the easy part of the schedule.

I definitely see them as the favorites for WC1 and you get into that Pacific division playoff where the goaltending is suspect who knows how far you can go.

The race for that last wildcard spot in the East is a humdinger
There was a thread on the main boards about if the Blue Jackets or the Habs could pass the Devils. I fairly confidently said that they wouldn't, not because the Devils are good, but because they had a sizable lead, and the Habs and Blue Jackets are bad. It's nigh on impossible for bad teams to close large point gaps in the last 15-ish games in the season, because there is a reason they are on the outside looking in.

10ish days later, after 4 or so games, with the Devils in complete free fall, the Habs have closed the gap from 7 points to... 6 points. Cause the Habs are bad. The Blue Jackets are still 8 points behind, because the Blue Jackets are bad.

Montreal has a pretty easy schedule down the end of the line.

Ottawa and Columbus still play 3 times Sens can bury them or make the race even tighter.

At this point Rangers should be protecting their top 13 protected draft pick traded for Miller by tanking and leaving the Canucks without a 1st rd draft pick this year.

Isles are my favourite underdog right now. Patrick Roy did it last year. Can he do it again, sneak them in?

I see CBJ signed big LHD Caleb MacDonald out of UND. I was really hoping the Jets would’ve signed him, to get more defence prospects.

Jets can rarely get help on the out of town scoreboard so …

I’m calling a second consecutive shutout for Oettinger. No way do the pathetic oilers get a clean win against Dallas without McDavid and Draisaitl.

Can’t count on the 2 SKINNER boys to guide them to a Win.

You can count on plenty of bone headed plays by NURSE. “ There’s no cure for the hell he brings”.

Seems like Dallas is going to win or OTL’s from here on out. Jets can’t get complacent while finishing off this historic season.
Dallas will be 6-2-2 in their last 10. What indicates they will win or OTL their remaining games? Jets are 7-3 in the last 10, same number of points. So why be concerned?
