2024 2025 Around the League Part 2

Montreal choking away their playoff spot with five consecutive losses.

Since everyone is losing CBJ still have a good chance to make it after that huge debacle, believe it or not.

As I’ve said many times, all of the teams competing for that second wild card spot in the East are bad hockey teams.

All of them.

I’ll cheer for anyone that is man’s best friends corner
Let's not forget that players like Vinny Lecavalier still speak extremely highly of the dude. I mean... the dude stripped the C off his chest and handed it to Dave Andreychuck, who seemed washed up beyond repair with us. Dave captained them from the 3rd/4th lines to a Stanley Cup and Vinny was liberated a bit from being the sole focus of the spotlight in Tampa.

One thing Torts does better than any other coach I've ever seen. When he believes the guys are trying but just failing, he'll go into a post-game scrum and completely just make it about him being a dick to a reporter. He'll put himself out there in the spotlight and make the story about himself to take it off the guys in the locker-room.

Yes, he's a prickly bastard by nature, but make no mistake... many of his blowups were theatrical in nature and mostly likely pre-determined before he even hit the podium.

I don’t watch much hockey besides the avs. Everything I’ve ever seen from him I haven’t minded. I always can appreciate people who speak their mind.

It’s crazy the Oilers traded young, big, physical players that can skate. They went from having great depth to old, useless sacks of shit throughout the lineup.

F Dylan Holloway(STL): 6’1”, 206 lbs, 23 years old, 157 hits, 62 points this season

F Ryan McLeod(BUF): 6’3”, 25 years old, 43 points this season

F Warren Foegele(LAK): 6’2”, 205 lbs, 28 years old, 41 points this season

D Philip Broberg(STL): 6’4”, 212 lbs, 23 years old, 20:23 ATOI, 27 points this season

The return?

5’9” Savoie playing in the AHL + 2nd + 3rd round picks.

Absolutely brutal. I would be so mad as an Oilers fan.
They have Stan the man Bowman in charge now. Easily one of the worst GMs in the league.

The Oil are such a farce with their management, it's never good. I would absolutely leave as McDavid or Drai.

I would blame it more on the fact of them not getting Broberg and Holloway signed during the season. Bowman was in a tough spot, having to face the offer sheets like 3 weeks into the job. He was already handcuffed with what Jeff Jackson had done in free agency.

Brutal! They got it all wrong.

Jets just keep on winning. I'm starting to think they're the real threat, not the Stars.

It's interesting how almost every betting outlet has Florida/Dallas/Colorado as the top 3 favourites to win the Stanley Cup.

Winnipeg and Washington are being completely ignored, despite having led their two conferences in points for the entire season since day one.

FanDuel doesn't even have them in the top 6!

The fact is that Jets only have one elite player, and that's Hellebuyck. And we know what his playoff history has been. That's the reason they are overlooked.

Are we concerned, that Scheifele is going to outperform MacKinnon? That Morrissey is going to outperform Makar? That Kyle Connor is going to outperform Nuke/Necas?

Winnipeg has no 2C

They'll use Lowry as 2C to try and shut down MacK again, but the Nelson line will feast as a result

They have no answer for Kelly-Drury-LOC either

One thing the Avs are going to need against Dallas is solid goaltending.

I think the Avs can outplay Dallas, but I worry about their plethora of finishing talent.

I don’t think goaltending will be as critical in other series, but if the Woods fall flat against Dallas, it will be damn hard to win.
