Around the NHL 2024 25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

What a ridiculous comment this was
Now that I have a cup of coffee in my hand and not a glass of wine, my point is when you are the lead dog you shouldn’t be scared of what other teams do because you control your own destiny. I hope not a single Jet player cares what happens on the out of town scoreboard. It should be meaningless to them.

I for one, don’t want to the Jets to coast into the playoff with first in our conference locked up and we are dangerously close to having enough points to do that already (short of a collapse we might be there with only 12 games left). Some friction is a very good thing. Last year at this time heading into the playoffs we got on a winning streak just to collapse in what was pretty close to a sweep in the first round. Last 10 games Jets have gone 6-3-1 Dallas have gone 6-2-2. We are currently 8 points up on Dallas and they do have a game at hand, we have a head on head still, so its possible (which keeps it uncomfortable) but the math is ugly for the Stars.

We have 12 games of hockey left and I plan to enjoy the end of our regular season journey. Notwithstanding the year one honeymoon, this has been my favorite regular season since the Jets have come back. I don’t want it to end but I am looking forward to the playoffs.

I have tickets for the game today ( but I also have a daughter in a Volleyball tournament).

That's what i thought you meant even when you were drinking wine .

Pretty sure Arniel and his staff have the team focused on a “one game at a time” path. He will want them to carry that exact same approach to the playoffs. The fans are free to get ahead of themselves and worry about the what ifs, but the team and players will have way more of a workmanlike approach.

SN crew were sporting woodies with the Leafs up 2-0 with both the Panthers and Bolts losing, 5 straight goals for the Predators made them go limp.
They have considerable difficulty in calming down their woodies even in the aftermath of the slaughter. The TSN sidebar hype on the sheer incalculable value of Matthew's leadership etc etc.. borders on misinformation.

Sheldon Keefe throws Kovacevic under the bus in his post game pressor. Kovy has played bad lately but some Devils fans feel there are worse players

“ Kovy def sucked in the first period with some of his choices, but the data shows he was their second best player only to like, who struggled more defensively than Kovy.

Keefe blowing him up like that is stupid, especially when the worst dman on the team night in and night out is Dillon.”

Yes, this makes me question the qualities of Keefe's underlying wisdom. This smacks of basic thug 'tude.
- position of power - check.
- truculence spilling over to tantrum - check.
- damage to team intangibles - check.

Yeah sure the Tars and Golden Showers have 1 game at hand us the Jets but we have solid 8 and 10 point leads.
The Ave Nots are 13 back.

Lots of undies in nickers on here in the last 24 hrs.

Have many of you lost faith in the Jets in continuing there winning ways?

I sure have not!

Score board watching is for the weak, if your a player or coach.

since the 2005 cap introduction:

110+ pt season have occurred (not including the 3 shortened years):
51x total
11x teams repeated it the following year, WPG is on track to be there

Detroit had the longest streak from 2005-2009 (4x in a row)
Carolina has a current streak of 3x in a row

I hope we get pushed for first place in the division so the remaining games have some meaning. It seems there are many instances in the past the team that is fighting for their lives to get in the playoffs are playing playoff style games right to the end and can play that intensity easier once the playoffs start. The team that coasts in to the playoffs sometimes has a hard time to turn the switch back on and up the intensity.

i dont know if that was true last year though. the Jets were one of the hottest teams going in to the POs winning 8 in a row, including a 7-0 shit-kicking of their first round opponent. meant nothing at the end it.

100% agree. When you are the front runner just take care of your own business. If you are chasing scoreboard watch away.

There’s actually going to be a ceremony in real-time,” Johnston said. “I mean, I think there should be. This is a pretty special moment, a special goal. But they’re going to limit it to seven minutes. There will be a delay in whatever game when Ovechkin ultimately reaches this. It could be a big moment of a pretty big game, at least for one of the other teams. The Capitals have their playoff positioning already pretty much sewn up, so it’s not going to affect them to the same degree. So these are the kind of discussions and planning scenarios that are already going on.”

😂 the first thing Arniel commented on in his pregame was how everyone in the division won yesterday.
