I understand why Russia and Belarus are suspended from the IIHF but not having them in the World Juniors , the Olympics and this 4 Nations Tournament sucks. It would be nice to see Gritsyuk or Silayev play in a tournament.
they should do a team of players that aren't from the 4. heck even another team of just pure rookie/2nd year guys regardless of country

its weird the sport is legit global and you have some of the sports biggest players not playing

Doing 4 games / 2 weeks in the middle of the season is probably the compromise. It's far from perfect, but adding another team (or two) would add several days to the tournament. Team North America last time was more or less a way to sell tickets since Canada/USA were in the same group; They had Team North America against Russia, Sweden, and Finland.

The TV networks targeted those two weeks since there's not a whole lot going on.

February 9: Super Bowl

February 12: Canada/Sweden
February 13: USA/Finland

February 15: Finland/Sweden, USA/Canada, NBA All-Star skills comp
February 16: NBA All-Star Game
February 17: (holiday) Canada/Finland, USA/Sweden

February 20: championship game
February 21: MLB spring training opens up

They did this before? Where the heck was I?

Luke Richardson fired in Chicago

I don’t follow much of other teams but seeing where they are in the standings he is doing the job. I don’t get teams wanting to rush rebuilds. You got bedard take your time get another 3-4 top 5-10 picks around him then bring in a coach to get them competing for a playoff spot. Then get a different coach to elevate them to the next level

Team North America sucked, because it ultimately undercut the US roster and they went out in the group stage ruining the tournament from an NHL marketing standpoint.

Luke Richardson fired in Chicago
THG did a video not long ago where his name was hypothetically thrown out there as being on the hot seat due to Bedard really not producing enough this year.

It looks like Bedard has since broke out a bit since that video was made though.

Seeing where they are in the standings he's doing the job? What do you mean? That his job is to tank?

Surely you can't say that team should have even fewer points than they already do. They're not on pace for quite as bad of a finish as last year's Sharks, which I think was the fewest points a team has had since the pre-shootout era? But they're still on pace for the fewest points and fewest wins in the league. I can't think Luke Richardson is the difference between them having the 56 points they're on pace for and finishing with under 50 points like last year's Sharks. Which got David Quinn fired over there.

Scott Wedgewood is really bad
His numbers against the Devils are probably keeping his overall career save percentage a few points higher.

Hopefully this means we won’t be facing him Sunday. I’ve had it more with getting owned by him than Blackwood. At least Blackwood has only done it for 4.5 periods. It’s went on for years with Wedgewood.

Anyway, Colorado is in Detroit Saturday, so we probably will get him on Sunday anyway lol.

They're going to get out of it, again.

Even so, between how things went with Goodrow and now this, they're definitely putting out the vibe that they'll cast anyone aside regardless of the circumstance. I know the Rags always come out the other end fine since they have their imaginary aura that people are fascinated with, but hopefully this starts to show the polished turd for what it really is.

My hope is this causes the other guys on the block to check out even more. I still think next year they could come back and be legitimately great with smart adds on the backend but they’re fighting an uphill battle to solve the issues in season even with him going out opening up 8 mil
