The next farthest away was a goalie named Al Rollins. He won in 1954..... even though he won 12 out of 66 games played. At least Taylor deserved his win.

But you're right. It's only once you start getting into the 1940s and before where there are names I'm not familiar with

Bruh wtf that trade is a steal for Boston. Literally gave up nothing to get rid of Hall.
They may have had to pay one of those Boston mobsters or hit men to personally make him feel like his life was in immediate danger if he didn't willingly go to Chicago.

But seriously though, I'm not even sure if he has a NMC or NTC. They've been talking about potentially trading him since the season ended, but a lot of those talks never turn into anything.

I was actually surprised to see that Jonathan Quick did not have an NMC or NTC of any kind the night LA traded him to Columbus and I ignorantly berated Quick (because I was under the impression that he for sure had some kind of clause) for allowing himself to be traded off to some loser team from a playoff team that he's played his entire NHL career for. I accused him of pulling a Marty, like he did to St. Louis.

But it turned out he had nothing of the sort and had no say at all in being traded.

I'm assuming that the RFAs that Chicago is sending back are nothing special? Like they're just there to make the number of contracts work, kind of like how the Meier trade was padded out with a bunch of random AHL dudes?

I really wish we did this and sent him through a 3rd team. You’d be sending nothing to Boston and only have to pay for the retention. There probably isn’t a better option when it comes to talent and cost combo. We don’t even have to put him in the top 6 since we already know he can drive a 3rd line. We already know he works well with Haula. I’d be fine with having either Hall in the top 6 or on the 3rd lime. If he’s on the 3rd line then you could’ve had Palat in the top 6 with Nico-Mercer and you try to have him be your Tatar. He could probably give you at least 75-80% of what Tatar was last year. Hall-Haula-Pasta was good and while Holtz-Clarke very much aren’t Pasta they’re good shooters and I imagine one of them would be able to take that RW spot. Then you can give a loaded up line of Meier-Jack-Bratt some real time to gel.

I would welcome Hall back with retention, but I think the fact that he has 3 years left on his contract (correct me if I'm wrong on that) may have deterred Fitz, if he would have ever been interested.

Hall is done

He might have one last pop with bedard and at which time the hawks would be wise to flip him at next years deadline

Not the worst thing in the world, it just makes his deadline price within the next 2 years higher if he goes on a tear with Bedard.

Maybe it wasn't possible to get him through a third team? Many of the teams that could be the middleman might be on his NTC list, allowing him a veto. Or we may even be on his NTC list, given that his tenure here didn't end on the best of terms.

I think Fitz is likely to make a trade or two this summer, but this one may not have been possible just due to the contract logistics.

I don’t know if they move him this year and if it’s just next year then you only get him for one run and he has to adjust to a new team

I find it impossible that he wouldn’t waive to come here. If you present him with the options of going back to NJ to play with his sons and really really contend for a Cup or go wallow in misery on a dogshit Chicago then he is 10000% going to ok a move here

If it's here, we can at least take solace that his best year was with our 2C and he's had some run with Jack as well. I honestly think if he gets traded again, he'll ask for us

I would imagine a pick and/or prospect, and decent roster player (Yegor) for a retained Hall would be appealing to Chicago. They’re winning nothing these next two years anyway, might as well turn him into some future assets (plus someone to play with Bedard) for roughly the same price including salary retention. They could flip Yegor too.

Yep. Would've liked to get Hall back. We know he can drive his own third line, or ride shotgun with Nico. The UFA class is ick anyway.

First off - lmao

Second - I would welcome Hall back at 50% as a 3rd line option and nothing more. He is not the same guy from 2018, his days as a legit top-6 forward are pretty much over.

Remember when we thought around this time 4 years ago that we'd probably need $10-$11 million per to have Taylor Hall locked up through 2028? And then he only gets $6 million (I think?) until 2026 (I think?) after one year at like $8.5 million in a disastrous year in Buffalo that likely cost him a decent amount.

Enjoy rotting in Chicago, who may very well be bad until he's in his late 30's and this deal is over.

He said a lot of unsavory things on his way out the door, so I couldn't care less for this player anymore. And it's not like he did much better after leaving here. Never had a year like that again and has won as many playoff rounds as Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier have, unless you include the SHAM playin against the Nashville Hiney Heads. Dick Tanket can celebrate that one too. It probably got him another head coaching job.

And in years from now, his name (along with Corey Perry maybe? and Jose Theodore) is gonna stick out as a rando on the Hart Trophy winners, the same way Cam Ward's name sticks out among Conn Smythe winners.

When you look at the list of guys that have won the award, almost everybody is either in the HOF already or probably will be and that includes the more recent winners like Auston Matthews and Leon Draisaitl.

The 3 names that really stick out as ''WUT? HE actually won the Hart Trophy????'' are Jose Theodore, Corey Perry and Taylor Hall.

And no, Perry is not an HOF'er. I've seen that on the mainboard quite a few times. See you in the hall of very good with Shane Doan. Taylor Hall will be right in there with them. If it's any consolation, Jose Theodore won't even gain membership to that.

From Day 1, I never believed Hall wanted to be in Jersey. I don't feel for him one iota.
