Slightly more modern than booking the Jonas Brothers for the Stadium Series.
Although, I actually enjoyed that more than I thought I would. Maybe DJ Khaled will be a pleasant surprise as well.
I think the Jonas Brothers are somewhat relevant again. Maybe it's because they're back together (like Blink 182 or at least the classic lineup of Blink 182) and were doing solo stuff for the last however many years up until fairly recently? My friends took their kids to go and see the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus (I think they were on the same bill?) back during the year the Prudential Center opened. I think the Jonas Boys and Miley were all teenagers at the time. Some only in their mid teens. I couldn't have told you any of their songs, but my friends young children (they were like 8-10 at the time) went to go see them.
I think my other friend took her small kids to the same tour when it came to Tampa back in 2007 or 2008.
I really have no clue about these things though. I figured the Jonas Brothers were sort of like how Blink 182 is more popular than ever the last couple of years, though I know the Jonas Brothers aren't NEARLY as popular as them.
I still have no idea of any of Khaled's (or DJ Kahled) music or what it sounds like. I'm not sure if the Panthers pay him or if it's the league. I'm going to assume it's on the Panthers. He probably ain't showing up and playing for free, unless he's just a huge fan of the Panthers or something. Even then I don't think he's doing it for free if he's expected to perform.
From what I've heard, Gaslight Anthem were paid a pretty good amount to play the stadium series. And some of them actually are Devils fans. I'm sure the Jonas Brothers were paid even more, because they're a much more known act. And Jay Weinberg also got paid more to play drums for their Jonas Brothers that night then he's making per show in Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves and probably even Slipknot, since he wasn't an original member and a salaried player. I have friends who know him and the Gaslight Anthem guys just from being in the same music scene.
