They had ties with no OT
The NHL brought in 5 minute OT for the regular season in 1983/84, which was the season the Oilers won their 1st of 4 Cups with Gretzky. I get what you are saying about ties and your overall point stands since 5 minutes of 5 on 5 OT still resulted in a lot of ties. But they did have OT during the dynasty.

That was a horrible decision the moment it was even brought up for consideration. I never understood letting a better and cheaper version of Krug go just to bring in the older, worse and more expensive player.
I almost threw my 'phone when I saw the Krug signing. I was so furious.
The argument I keep hearing in defence of Armstrong signing Krug and awarding him an NTC, is that Krug was the best UFA defenseman available at the time, and the NTC was offered because there was a limited window of opportunity to get Krug to sign.
I completely reject this argument. There was no need to sign Krug. I honestly think it was a rare panic move by Armstrong. If he had just been patient, we would not be in the predicament we are in now.

They still had ties, games didn't end in a shootout. And their OTs were 5-on-5. Edmonton has 2 OT wins and a SO win in this 11-game run, and one of those OT wins was on the power play.

At the risk of dragging that topic up yet again: I don't think it was a panic move at all. I think it was a calculated decision by Armstrong, and you can go back to September and October 2019 to see it all coming together.

Damn the Kings have been falling. They looked so good for the first 2-3 months but now are clinging on to the 8th spot in the west

Not sure why they made the trade they did this past offseason, but I would wager that has not helped.

Columbus got called for 100% the same exact interference call Neighbors got called on last night - Jackets were on a PP and one of their forwards posted up at the blue line, got skated into, and got called for interference.

Bringing this up for everyone to know that the NHL officiating just sucks, there's no bias against us :)
