That’s about the only move I’d like to see, and TBH I’d be reluctant to trade off Risto anymore. I like his maturity this season. Montour can be trade bait though.I wanted Botts to do something at the deadline but I don’t know anymore...some of these prices are steep.
Wiping out our prospect cupboard and/or draft picks to save face with the fan base is not worth it imo. Wait until the summer when there’s more time to find the right move.
If a good 2C with term is coming back for Risto/Montour do it for sure. But I don’t see that happening at the TDL.
Meh. I think the Nucks are blowing their load a bit early. They're benefiting heavily from playing in the worst division in the NHL.Vancouver isn't playing around this year.
1st for Miller, now grabbing Toffoli.
Wish our GM has some stones.

At the prices VAN paid, I'm not upset Botterill didn't make either of those trades.
Miller is very good at this price, he had good metrics in Tampa, but he didn’t have such a prominent role.At the prices VAN paid, I'm not upset Botterill didn't make either of those trades.
Only because of our division, and volatility of trading 1sts, especially with no clearly defined 2C, I’d agree to not making trade #1.
Trade #2 on the other hand, is a 2nd-2020, Zemgus Girgensons, and either Tage or Ryan Johnson, for Tyler Toffoli.
If you have confidence you can re-sign (hey Tyler, we’ll keep you with Jack!), then that 2nd deal is one I’d do for sure.
I don't believe that LA takes that package over what Van offered up.
Van has three good, young centers, so they could offer up a really good center prospect in the package.
The Kadri trade is the one that I wish Botts could have pulled off and not either Van deal.
The Sabres don't really need more wingers. They need a legit 2C.
I will say that I was quietly hoping Madden would be the guy in a RHD-to-Vancouver deal with Buffalo. I also remain jealous of Vancouver's drafting ability to turn out guys like Gaudette and Madden outside of the first two rounds.

I can sit and argue semantics and trade variations with everyone all day, but the bolded is ultimately the point.
Regardless of which trade you would’ve wanted to see happen, he’s done none of them.
In the span of soon-to-be-a-decade, the LA Kings will have won two Cups, sunk to the bottom of the league, rebuilt completely, and become contenders again. Meanwhile the Buffalo Sabres are still sitting around trying to figure out if Sam Reinhart is good and debating whether they should trade Ristolainen.

Haven’t seen this yet. It’s on tonight at 10:30pm on NBCsports.
interesting RW for RD prospects deal
Pump the brakes there Speed Racer. Nothing about the future is written in stone. They're currently only above Detroit. Buffalo was once a sure fire quick rebuild, too. Insert your excuses here [ ]. But my point remains.
I posted the trailer when it popped up last month.
It looks really interesting.
