They having a difficult time and it`s hard to explain from the outside the exact reasons. I`m not following Ottawa closely, nor their coach, but their recent trade with Matt D. it`s the opposite of the words; `being an impact on a team`. I also like Matt as a player in NHL so he has a hard time no doubts about that.

Nice trade by Shero. Vatanen wasn’t very good under Carlyle. Devils are a better team.

Is it a sell-low move on the part of Anaheim or is Vatanen not very good after the injuries. We'll see, but the ask for Sami two years ago wouldn't of been a 3rd line center with questionable compete level.

Meh, deal makes sense for both sides.

I'm not a fan of Vatanen and think he's incredibly overrated. He struggles big time 5v5.

With Montour and Manson on the right side, it definitely made sense for the Ducks to use Vatanen as a trade chip to get some forwards.

Can't wait to see Vatanen matched up against the forwards in the Metro. Ovy, Kuzy, Crosby, Malkin, KZB, Tavares etc...

Good job, Bruins.

With Tampa their 5 on 5 has not been good. Their best line as of late has been the Kunitz line who has chipped in 3 goals over the last 5 game span. Have lost 3 out of 5 but could of been even worse. Their biggest threat is on their PP and if teams can stay out of the box Tampa is going to have a hard time at ES to win if they can't get out of this funk, which is sad but true and not fun watching since I do root for them also.

Anaheim is just dumb, they should have traded Vatanen before he got hurt after he got himself into the lineup. They could have probably gotten a 2nd rounder and a 2nd line player (henrique is so average)...

But no, they have to give Cam Fowler is $8M, then pay a 1st and Shea Theodore so that they could lose Clayton Stoner, and then after all that they end up having to keep Bieksa

Seriously, what horrid asset management.

That said, this trade in particular is a good one. Devils needed to shore up the defense, none of the guys on the farm will amount to anything more than 3rd pair guys. Henrique is now expendable thanks for Hischer, Johansson is a solid top 6 Center. They've shored up the top 6 AND the bottom 4 dmen pretty quickly.

Yeah, Anaheim's asset management wasn't great but they have an embarrassment of riches on D so they could make some bad choices and still have Lindholm, Manson, Montour and Fowler who while overpaid is still good for what he is.

Feel terrible for Dorsett. He was only here briefly but I reminisce happily about those teams he was a part of.

Wish him all the best.

Twisted ending to that Leafs-Oilers game. Wow, can't say I have seen one deflate quite like that for a team in a long time. It was shaping up to be a great finish, but became much less than that, except for the Leafo's of course.

Haha, good one - Oilers fans have almost waited an era for McDavid and now this! :)
They need defense upgrade for sure. Maybe a good piece to move Ryan Mc. for prospect + future. But I like to wait to see him later this evening after his injury -
hopefully a new Ryan with better quickness and speed, and hopefully he start shot the puck again.
