Ouch. When marquee players beg fans not to send them there in advance....

Hopefully the World Cup can kind of satisfy this best-on-best itch with more dignity and we can kill this thing. I like the idea of some kind of celebration for the league, but this can't be it.

Sounds like Chia loved the Seguin trade so much he might be going down that road again.

I wonder how long it is before there are reports that RNH is a cancer in the Oilers locker room?

I doubt it. Oilers don't have the same cap constraints that Bruins were facing. Also, they don't have center depth the Bruins had when they did that trade. Of that group, I could see them moving Eberle/Yakupov for defense, but you have to assume that Hall/RNH/McDavid are the 3 building blocks moving forward.

Doesn't sound like RNH is... looks like Draisaitl

Woudnt it be nice if Bogosian did the same thing for Chia that Eriksson did? You want more grit? Here's Bogo + Foligno... Eh, one can dream.

Wouldn't it be nice if Edmonton had an abundance of LHD instead of forwards.

A team like New Jersey that is never going to be bad enough to draft a player like RNH but also not good enough to do any damage with their current roster should be all over a trade with Edmonton.

Klefbom is pretty average. I think Scandella is a significantly better hockey player
I think he's a worse defensemen than Edmonton fans think, but a defensemen who would look much better with a role he's capable of. He's in the same boat as 10 or so other defensemen in the league and not unlike the defensemen Edmonton traded last season or the one we traded. Which is why I'm so glad we have Ristolainen.

I agree as of now, but do think theres significant growth left in Klefboms game as he matures...Scandellas got 3 years on him and knows his role in a pretty darn good (and deep) D system.

and as Moskau noted, in the right situation/role Klef could still be a solid player going forward.

He should get the second assist on the Edmonton goal. I think he coughed it up in prime position twice in that sequence.

Also caught the last half of the Ducks-Sharks game. 1-0 but it had that playoff vibe, so it wasn't a snoozer.

Johnny Hockey is really good and Chara is making awful mental decisions all over the ice. Hamilton seams to finally be adjusting to Calgary.

Crazy game. Hamilton caused the penalty shot with 1 minute left that gave Boston the lead. Flames tie it with 1.2 seconds left to force overtime, Gaudreau gets the hat trick winner.

Hopefully the rule changes include, getting rid of the coaches challenge, automatic icing and penalties for removing helmets during fights.

The first and 3rd I can understand....

But I don't get wanting to remove the automatic icing. Seems like its inclusion has had exactly the affect that the owners/GMs wanted (ie, reducing injury on such plays).

Among rule changes the NHL should/could make, removing automatic icing shouldn't be in the top 50.

Agreed

And the puck over the glass delay of game penalty should be the #1 rule change.

Doesn't bother me. I like compete and I'll live with injuries to keep the flow of the game going and adding more flair to the game.

Agree about the puck over the glass needs to be high on the list.

Don't want some plug ruining one of my defensemen over a likely icing. NO THANKS. That play was rarely relevant when there was no rule and there was icings most of the time anyways to impact the flow.
