We would just have Ericsson go up to Roussel and say " I would really appreciate it if you didnt do that anymore"

Sorry have seen all of Ericsson, Smith and even Q go for similar plays, he would have had to have fought, the surprising part was how an angry Hainsey really went to town.

On the Miller trade, like the deal for both sides, not real happy about the rumors that Stewart will be flipped to Ottawa for two seconds, I would like us to get in on that if that is the case.

I'd really like Hainsey or Matt Greene for next year.

I mean, what is location, really
Buffalo is going to be absolutely scary when they get going. 2 firsts this year (I think?) and now 3 more firsts in 2015 with the NYI and STL picks, and that's not even taking into account what they could get for Stewart. They'll have a disgusting wealth of riches in terms of a prospect pool.

Ughhhh they totally stole my strategy for Be a GM Mode in the NHL games :sarcasm:

Mouslon, Stewart, Ehrhoff, Halak, Myers, Tallinder

I'm expecting at least 3 of those guys gone by the deadline.

Stewart being flipped for 2 seconds seems too low, and I'd be disappointed if Holland didn't get in on that. Stewart definitely has plenty of holes in his game, but for two 2nds? That seems way too easy to outbid. Unfortunately, I doubt Holland is creative enough to handle the cap repercussions of adding Stewart. That would probably be enough to scare him off.

apparently that 3rd rounder becomes another 1st if St. Louis makes the WCF or re-signs Miller

nice return for Buffalo

Miller's career stats are no different than Howard's or Halak's. Ott may fit in better on their team than Stewart. Otherwise, I don't see much of a difference.

St. Louis is ready to win right now, and Miller has been great all season especially considering the team that was in front of him. Miller has also proven to be solid under pressure. Halak had a Cinderella run in 2010, but that's about it.

I would much rather have Miller between the pipes during playoff time.

Ott and Stewart is a pretty lateral more. I like Stewart more though.

That's not true, though. He also had great regular seasons in 09-10 and 11-12. Miller is more consistent on a year-in, year-out basis as the lead goalie, so he has a clear edge even though their career save% numbers are basically the same. But, I think its perception more than reality that Miller is somehow a significant upgrade. Not to mention the fact that Halak already has a tremendous playoff run under his belt, so its not like he's incapable of delivering in the playoffs. Goalies are hard to project either way, so that's a real steep cost for St. Louis.

Barring any last minute efforts at reconciling, it's appears LaFontaine days with #Sabres is over. One source described situation as "ugly"

Miller is 2x better than Halak, no comparison. Halak is a below average NHL goalie. You're really going to compare numbers between Buffalo and St. Louis

and stewart is actually bad, id be pissed if he came to us. Not a player i'd ever want on my roster, one of the laziest in the league.

there's a reason they're going all in and he was their number 1 guy to sell off

C'mon man. He's easily better than average IMO.

He's not a top 15 goalie in the league, watch him in BUF/MIN, he won't be .910 + in BUF

Okay I just read the Miller vs Halak portion and it was absolutely terrible. They're seriously comparing a bottom feeding team to the best defensive team in the NHL ONLY by sv%, very logical argument. If you agree with the article that Halak and Miller are "equal value and cancel out" than I'm not going to even bother. Absolutely ridiculous notion, can't get over people can even think that.
