Around The NHL #13

Brayden Point with 2 goals tonight to get 51 on the year. He was drafted 79OA in 2014.

Coyotes took Brendan Perlini at 12, Ryan MacInnis at 43, Chris Dvorak at 58, then traded down from 73 to get Anton Karlsson and Michael Bunting in the 4th round.

After the Oilers get upset in the 1st round and waste another year of McDavid and Co .....their first free agent signing should be Toews. As great as McDavid is he does not have the leadership skills nor intensity to inspire a team to a Stanley Cup. He's the DeAndre Ayton of Hockey.

Toews would be the perfect complement (even if his offensive production has declined to a bottom 6 forward).
Did you not watch last year's playoffs??

If it helps Tampa didn't think he was that good either as they drafted 3 players before him. At that point it's purely lucky to get a great player.

Penguins fire Ron Hextall and Brian Burke.

What a mess Hextall was. Just over two years on the job. And to think I had him as a top-two candidate when we were running our own GM search.

The NHL should hire Brian Burke to take over their Pride initiatives before they f*** it up any more than they have.

Cherry picking an easy example.... and the Coyotes wouldn't know this but I imagine when you get franchise altering players gifted to you as 1st or 2nd overall picks, and whether the same draft or subsequent drafts, it probably affords you to take a few shots in other rounds at players you might not have selected if you didn't have several of those franchise altering players

You have no idea what you are talking about. That sentence about McDavid is just plain down right stupid, with a capital S.
