'salary-cap era' in quotes because the cap has been circumvented by many of the team in the top half of the rankings?
That aside, given Winnipeg didn't have a team for six seasons since the start date they aren't horrible. Seattle obviously is excused due to short duration in the league. You probably know what I think about Vegas...
All 10 of the Jets "points" were earned after relocation to Winnipeg in 2011 (i.e. In 13 out of 19 seasons counted).

Agree. The Canes are very much in the "win now" window and will optimize their contracts and other moves accordingly. This gives them Necas at a manageable cap hit and suggests to me that they didn't find a trade that they thought would enhance their competitiveness in the short term.
If they do intend to keep Necas it takes them out of the Laine sweepstakes, if they were ever involved.

Likely that is the end of his NHL career at age 29. If it is he ended up with 7G - 28A - 35P - 170 Games Played for 4 teams. Jets, Leafs, Canucks and Wild. Interestingly he never played a single NHL playoff game.

It wasn’t the kind of move that normally would have gone unannounced, but the reason behind it led both parties to choose silence.
Marek had been questioned by the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and NHL security for allegedly leaking which players teams were drafting moments before picks were publicly announced, according to league and media industry sources.
As part of Sportsnet’s crew that night, Marek was privy to the draft selections before they were publicly announced. This is common practice for broadcast rightsholders. The production truck is notified of the pick approximately one or two minutes before it’s made so that graphics can be prepared, video clips readied and cameras trained on the player about to find out he has been selected.

to me this indicates a situation where someone got overly comfortable and complacent in their job. Most employers take leaking of privileged information quite seriously and it is typically outlined in an employment contract. While leaking the inevitable to your buddy 1 minute early isn't much of a big deal, it still demonstrates someone whose biggest motivation while hosting a live tv show was not the show itself but helping their friend boost their social media cred.

That said... when you work for a billion dollar corporation and you use work information to help a friend prop up his credibility for his business? Those are just basic ethics rules at any bigger company.
