Congratulations to Pascal Vincent! I'm sure this isn't how he saw it happening, but I always liked him him as a HC.

Yeah, not ideal circumstances but I'm happy he gets an opportunity.

Exposed a potential divide in the locker room and resigns in shame. Not sure how Jarmo Kekäläinen could possibly stick with two disastrous hires in a row.

That org is going to be in massive damage control mode for a while now. The org and vets initially chose the coach over some of the younger players. The whistle got blown and the coach is now gone. Gotta wonder how the room functions now. Also I have no clue how management survives this.

Pretty horrible circumstances but if he manages to have some success he'll probably get another shot somewhere.

Yeah, Babcock dropped a bomb on the room and then just walks away
Jarmo has to be next and then whoever replaces him almost certainly brings in their own coach. Pretty horrible situation for a first shot for Vincent.

Babcock just needs to kinda disappear, that old school shit doesn't work anymore

It's more double standards exist more in America now. Acceptable behavior is being openly racist and f***ing her in the p***y, sharing photos apparently is a no no eventho Instagram was made for that reason. Part of me hopes an emp hits on 9/23 so the insanity created by the internet ends

According to multiple sources, one of the most serious concerns was a meeting that occurred away from team facilities that included “several minutes” of looking through a phone. That was beyond the scope of what was initially understood to have occurred.

Clearly it was a lot more than just "sharing photos." He used his position of power to coerce younger players to hand their phones over to him. That'd be unacceptable in any workplace.

Such a complete and utter abuse of power. That is a fireable offense in any office. People like him don't belong anywhere near a rink.

Considering his history of bullying, this is completely unacceptable and an abuse of power. Older players will be more comfortable, but the power imbalance is how we get another Kyle Beach situation. Better to not let it happen.

You all realize that this could just be Babcock saying "I don't need this shit"

What bomb?
I am in the dark here?

Potentially divided the room, intentionally or not. Gaudreau and Jenner went to bat for him before actually speaking to their teammates. Hard to trust the apparent leaders when they're going out of their way to defend the coach who put them in a no-win scenario.
Now there's young players who will be seen as having rocked the boat when the older players had no issues with Babcock.

This sure embarrasses the organization.
The fans are calling for the C to be stripped.

Good for the young players for sticking up for themselves.

Yeah, it also shows how important having a 3rd party (the NHLPA in this case) to report to is, even though the NHLPA also initially dropped the ball. If players can't trust their captain/teammates and NHLPA representative then they certainly shouldn't trust the organization.

Yeah, as said above he's also their NHLPA rep. If not stripped of the captaincy he should absolutely be stepping down as the NHLPA representative.

Edit: Typo

Such a weird situation in Columbus. Always two sides to the story, but Babcock burned way too many bridges in the past to get the benefit of the doubt on this one. He was probably enemy number 1 for the NHLPA, and there was no way they were going to let this go after the justified criticism they took doing nothing for Kyle Beach after he filed a complaint.

"Dropped a bomb" "don't need this shit" so from what I understand he left a surprise in one of the bathrooms...:sarcasm:
