Pretty sure we will be playing the Avs... it's just a question of who gets home ice.

But, it doesn't really matter IMO, because the team in green is going to the Finals out of the west.
I’m still not convinced the Stars beat the Avalanche. Colorado won 3 of the 4 games versus the stars. Would be a long series, but I think the team with Mac Kinnon/Makar/Rantanen (if healthy) comes out on top.

How long is Rantanen out? His neural centre has involuntarily chucked itself against its own braincase, but I can't find any prediction for his recovery.

I caught a lot of heat from Oilers fans when I tried warning them of Kane, but i was told hes a changed man now...

I laughed out loud when i heard Edmonton was picking up Perry. I knew he wouldnt blend well with Kane.

Edmonton is sacrificing their entire teams culture for discounted players of poor character. Not Smart.

No two players deserve each other more than E. Kane and Perry. Add grumpy Draisatl into the mix and it must be miserable in that locker room some days.

Depends entirely on how he is feeling and on clinically-based judgement/protocols. If he is already skating on his own that is a good sign, but concussion protocols generally require an athlete to be symptom-free for >1 week, with peak exertion. He is nowhere near that stress point yet.

You might be interested in knowing that there is lots of research/clinical trials in progress involving new biomarkers for concussion so that a few years from now there might actually be something tangible to base a prediction on.

Funny, that was always a beef I had with Kane's play here... look like a superstar flying down the left side then snap a wrister high and wide and it wrapped around the glass all the way back down to the Jets end. He'd do it even with passing options

Always seemed like a low IQ play

Thanks! Biomarker sciences have come a long way from the days of simply being happy with the appearance and linkage of one protein to a particular disorder. With something as complex as neural function/dysfunction and higher order neural performance, having a marker of protein expression would provide a much needed "hard science" measurement to guide clinical recommendations.

Yeah, it's a recipe in futility for those last two spots. A number of teams still in the mix due to the Caps and Flyers shifting the bed down the stretch.
Philly fans should rightfully be pissed. I can't imagine this board if we were sellers while fighting for a home playoff spot

Thanks for posting. Definitely a few takeaways that jump off the page

Colorado has ridiculous star power.

Colorado depth dries up real quick. They're top 4 forwards and top 3 D are great. Everyone after that are basically replacement level as far as Cup contenders rosters go

Jets have better middle of the lineup than Colorado and better 4th line. If they could keep MacKinnon and co. around a pt/gm...

Dallas has better top line and middle of the lineup scoring than the Jets. Probably the reason they've had our number this year.

I think we have a better shot against Colorado than Dallas but obviously we have a fighting chance in either. No room for getting outcoached or outgoalied in either though!

The talking heads from Toronto like Elliotte Friedman are pushing to expanded the playoffs or change the format 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7 , 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5 ... anything to help the Leafs get by the first round ... lol.
The 2 division winners play the 2 wild cards teams already so how about pushing to fix the LTIR bs instead.
Top seeded teams should get to pick who they want to play. This would be so good for ratings.

Boston ALWAYS pick Toronto.

Selfishly, Colorado and Winnipeg games are more fun to watch. We always have pretty entertaining games against them.
