Matthews is insane

Dallas showing us how to score goals... Also big years so far from Duchene and Seguin

Are blues a surprise to some ppl? I had them in the PO mix but jw consensus.

So strange watching highlights from other games in the NHL where players skate in over the blue line and take a casual wrister from above the circles and it goes into the net. Whereas for the Jets somehow the puck finds a way to stay out of the net even after a triple deflection and the subsequent rebound from the blue paint some how misses the net.

The empty net was a Vezina candidate last night against us

Jets just can’t buy one right now

Dutch having a big season again with his Shooting %. It happened to him two seasons ago too. Dushene got bought out by Nashville just to move his flaky ass and Dallas picks him up off the scrap heap for a 1 year $3 million risk and he goes on a heater again like two season ago. Note to Dallas please sign him to a multi year deal

Matthews didn’t get his 50 in 50 but yea he is a machine. High shot volumes and high career shooting % is a nice combination. Last season was an outlier for him shooting % wise. The only issue is he has had his injuries but so far this season he is fine.

Blues I didn’t have a bead on but they have a great GM that tends to find a way.

Dallas is continuing to pack on the points with their extra games played, but if we finish out of first I'd much rather play the Avs in round 1 so that's fine with me
Dallas is playing well but we win our games in hand and we are still 1st in the Central. Gotta win the games in hand but i like that we are in control if we win our games.

Natural hat trick for overpaid Auston Matthews.
He's not overpaid, dude is a great player, but his overall look-it-me energy/vibe/insufferable quotient renders him as a major diva in my humble opinion.

Dallas has very nice balanced scoring. Their top talent are not scoring at last seasons pace but their next tier have all stepped up and Dallas leads the NHL in goals for (they have one game in hand with Van who has the same goal total).

Dallas is killing it, 9 goals!! What the hell is in their corn flakes.

Love to see San Jose take it to Calgs.

Vancouver are like a pack of bee-stung coelacanths. Saturdays game is pretty big for our Jets.

Oilers carry the play but lose to a non-playoff team. Oh look, Skinner finished 1.23 goals below expected (Moneypuck). Who knew that supra-Vezinal goaltending from a sub-.910 was unsustainable?

St Louis is 8-2-0 in their last 10 and are in a wild card position. Not sure where you're getting the non playoff team from

He's not overpaid , Marner, Tavares and Rielly are though.
Agree, Matthews worth every penny. Tavares and Marner are killing that teams cap with their contracts. Nylander wont be overpaid till next year when the extension gets paid.

Will challenge you on Rielly though. Isn't he making roughly the same money as Schmidt and Pionk? I think Reilly is on a good and fair contract.

Rielly makes 7.5 million a season, but agree Schmidt at 5.9 million is too high.

Totally agree, all good reasons to hate Matthews.

The wife likes to point out that divas are always women. The male equivalent is a divo. Which is one more reason why I hate being dragged to the operas.

All after a Jet has passed it off twice on a 3-0 rush.

They practice against Hellebuyck. Maybe iron doesn't sharpen iron, but actually makes it cowardly and meek?

All jokes aside, the insane shooting slump will end. I'm concerned about the PP, but with the shooting slump I'm just happy we're getting points out of goaltending and defense while it's still going.

Buying out Wheeler was a sound move.
