How could you defend that ? Its impossible. Scheifele got 4 games in the playoffs for a first offense, going by that alone Gallagher should get at least 10 regular season games for this dirty hit . Little weasel.

I was able to read the story days ago via the link despite it being behind a paywall.

Anyways, this should be required reading before offering any opinion on the matter. Often the first story one reads from a newspaper requiring a subscription is free, perhaps explaining how I was able to read it.

Its about power and money and doing everything to push back against the league. They do not want any player losing one dollar or one game. That is the players and the PA's mind set. Players vs Bettman.

Any willful, deliberate act of violence against against an unsuspecting opponent should garnish the immediate attention of local authorities. It would simply takes one cities police department to press charges for the NHL to do a complete 180 on situations like this.

In baseball you can't flip a bat in celebration of a 3 run homer that decides a series without a continent losing their mind, but hundreds of instances of vigilante justice each season in hockey is accepted no questions asked.

Hockey culture is garbage. A shame that a sport which should rival soccer as the most beautiful game on the planet is instead the most brutal.

Canadiens fans were even hoping that they would of suspended for the year, because his play has fallen off a cliff the last 3 years. 3 more years at 6.5 has to be one of one of the worst contract for what he brings.
