It only gets scary if the Jets forget what got them where they are - team defense.
There are signs that it has slipped a bit - Bones will need to remind them and hope the message gets through.

But, to your points, I'm nervous about this too - it's a challenge for a team to stick to a game plan that requires a ton of work.
I'm not sure what to expect - but I'm hoping the tougher competition snaps them back into the same team game we've seen this year that everyone hates to play against.
Losing a few is a good reminder, yet, we are so far ahead of pack it shouldn’t really hurt.

FML, Vancouver AND Boston AND Colorado all won today, all high scoring games too.

This is why the Jets can't slip up even a little as the top five is crazy intense (and good).
But Dallas keeps losing and why do we need to finish top 5, when playoffs is a new beast.

The shittiness of Vancouver getting the two points is offset by the fact that they beat the Leafs so in my mind, it's a wash
Why care about the President trophy? The last thing we need is for the Jets to be chasing a meaningless award. Just value in us being first in the Central. Actually I’d be content with 2nd in the Central since it is the same path to the cup after the first round.

Life in this lane is fast, the competition is fierce, as it should be.

IMHO the Oilers uniforms might be the ugliest I've ever seen in my 45 years of watching the NHL. I'm trying to think of worse but I can't. I mean I like vintage and kitschy, but those colors...
The pants look like my Dad's canvas overall alfalfa-bale-throwing/swine fodder-shoveling costumes - purchased at the Lowe Farm general store circa 1968.

And the Flames' outfits looked like something from Team CCCP in the 1960s.

From a team uni point of view, that was one ugly game to watch.

They can keep the President's trophy but home ice advantage throughout the playoffs would be great. Now back to the regular season and 1 game at a time.

I wasn't referring to wins and losses - more about how they are playing and how they need to play to be successful.
I don't expect them to win every game - that's not a realistic expectation. But I do want them to continue to play the same way that made them successful.

So now bumping a goalie behind the net is called goaltender interference and is a three game suspension.
Weird I dont remember that rule when Hellebuyck got his mask knocked off and laying on the ice with no penalty or suspension … play just continued until Dallas scored.

Agreed and getting Scheifele back will definitely help with that.

And you think playing the same way is realistic? I think every team has let downs against weaker teams when they have been on a hot streak like the Jets have been. I imagine it is easy to let it go to your head, especially when there are other distractions like injuries. I would love to know teams that are able to keep up the same consistent effort, not cheat on systems, in the way that they are playing 84 games a season.
I think thats why losses are a good thing as it keeps teams steady. That's why I think its easier to come out of nowhere then stay on top, having that external pressure of knowing you got to win every game to stay in this thing.

The jerseys they wore against Toronto last night? I think they look awesome.

Different rules for different teams, and different rules for different players.

Sky's blue.
Water's wet.

If you see from the other angle, the primary point of contact was his shoulder and Fleury's head

I thought the same thing you did until I saw that. If someone hit Helle like that, I'd want him strung up
