This might push them over the leafs as my least favourite team in the league.

I hope Perry brings ruin to their dressing room and I hope they go on a 13 game losing streak

Need a game where the team designs the opposing teams jersey.

How bad could the designs be?
Wouldn’t have to change those oiler jerseys much! lol

Good on Dube for identifying and working towards addressing this. Health always comes first, that includes mental health

I bet they lose their next game.

Ballsy move to f*** with the locker room while on the kind of heater the Oilers are on... especially for a 3rd/4th line player

I think it's a really intelligent signing, ultimately every good army needs a couple of criminals. Kane is a fool but on the ice he's actually a pretty down the line player. Corey Perry f***s with the opposition like Brad Marchand. You hate them but you admit they fill a role.

As long as he increases the number of power plays it’s a win.

And you think playing the same way is realistic? I think every team has let downs against weaker teams when they have been on a hot streak like the Jets have been. I imagine it is easy to let it go to your head, especially when there are other distractions like injuries. I would love to know teams that are able to keep up the same consistent effort, not cheat on systems, in the way that they are playing 84 games a season.
I think thats why losses are a good thing as it keeps teams steady. That's why I think its easier to come out of nowhere then stay on top, having that external pressure of knowing you got to win every game to stay in this thing.
These guys play 3 or 4 games a week and make millions - yes, I think it is realistic.
I also expect them to slip here and there - but I want it to be the exception that they will recognize and correct very quickly.
No one expects them to win every game - that's silly.
What the fans do expect is that they play hard, stick to the system that makes them successful, and be as good as they can be.

My post was about the system they play and the consistency required to establish their game around that system - I'm not suggesting they be perfect or never experience a let down. I'm not complaining and I'm not trying to set dumb expectations - I just want them to stick with it.

People can hate on Corey Perry for being a dick but the guy has been an awesome 4th liner on numerous teams that went on Cup runs. He has tons of big game experience and is still effective. Any spin on this as a L for Edmonton is way off imo. I'd have him here in a heart beat.

Murat made a nice post on the Sens game along the lines of the Jets were in the right spots, making mostly the right reads, but were really slow in doing so.

So not abandoning the system, but just not executing it to the level needed. I'll take that over everyone forgetting where to be defensively like other years and "off" games

Your expectations are very different than mine. I thought we’d be battling for a wildcard. Yet they are at the top of the league. Most players are exceeding expectations. No one looked at team and says yes on paper they are a winner.
Schmidt who was healthy scratched is one of the top pairing in the league.
They are made millions, so are the others teams whose whole goal is to disrupt our systems. Yet we are playing our systems better than other teams are playing their systems. How can I tell? We are winning.

Colorado and Dallas are losing. Is that all on injury or are other teams also not playing their systems as well as possible.

Expectations change along with the teams success - a wildcard spot is way back in the rear view mirror at this point.
The Jets need to do what they can to control their own destiny - which will allow them to not worry to much about what Colorado or Dallas are doing - I feel the same way.

Perry is a dick but he makes their team better.
As far as screwing with the room...if you can make your team better, you do it.
This thing about staying the course and don't screw with the room, I don't believe that at all.
The players want to see Chevy going out there and getting players.
If he picked up any of Lindholm, Henrique, Chych,...etc, the players would be ecstatic (except maybe the guys getting bumped).
I want Chevy to go all in and get a legit 1/2C and an experienced D man (rental).

Ehlers Scheif Volare
KC 2C Perfetti
Nino Lowry Apples (yes)
Barron Names Iafallo
Gus Toni Kup Axel

That's a pretty good, deep set of forwards.

What about Hamonic as insurance for the playoffs?
He has a 1.1m that ends at the end of next season. We could have him for insurance and next year he could play on the Moose or be our 7th/8th D man. Eventually, maybe he could get himself into Moose management. He's not what he once was but he's played a hell of a lot of games and gives it his all evey shift.
What would it cost to pick him up? 4th rounder? Just a thought after some quality cilantro.

Nobody has ever accused Perry of being bad in the room, just don't let him near alcohol at team events.

First Kane and now Perry.

That's some culture!

To his credit, apart from his ex wife’s deplorable social media activities, Kane has almost gone 2 years without engaging in any controversial antics.

If I was a betting man however (which I am), It wont be long until he slips up again.

Having watched a few interviews with Drai and McD, I get the impression Kane isnt the most well liked person in that dressing room.

Adding Perry to the mix will only serve to expedite (not diffuse) the ticking time bomb that is the Oilers Locker-room.

Tic-Toc.

Why would adding Perry make things worse, nobody has ever accused him of being trouble in the locker room. To the contrary he has been well respected on every team he has played for in the past.

His problem in Chicago was an off ice issue that happened at a team hosted event between him and a team staff member that was fueled by alcohol, that is not very likely to cause drama in the dressing room.

Nice to see the Sens beat the Flyers. My manager has been getting too full of herself lately. "Oh, the Flyers KICKED the Jets' ass!"

Bitch, please. There was no ass kicking to be had.
