The third goal Smith gave up was a back breaker. He seems to do that a few times every series. He plays with fire way too much.

For a big guy, Smith is such a shrinking flower on his extensions.

To be fair, how do you let Lekhonen get so open? Blown faceoff coverage.

Against Tampa, it could go either way. Against us? Avs in five. We just don’t match up well with them.

Addendum: their goals are from pure speed. We give away plenty of odd man rushes as it is. I can’t imagine what it’d be like against them.

Disagree.

Lots of chinks in that armor.

I will say that I am going to miss Mike Smith some day.

He's one of the true agents of chaos in all sports. He can have great performances. He can give up 19 goals on 5 shots. He can make amazing passes from his own crease. He can look like the goalie version of a beanie propeller hat at a moments notice.

He is the only Mike Smith in a league that currently has two Sebastian Ahos.

All hail a true king.

I believe it's the other way around. Tampa will get ran off the rink.
Why do you say that? I feel Tampa could set the tone and shift playing styles; I think we tend to play the system regardless of the circumstances. It generally (overwhelming) works out for us. But it can also be a hindrance — which I think is the case with the Avs.
