Edmonton is barely even a playoff team.
They had the third best record in the league the last 38 games - since they replaced the coach.
Edmonton is barely even a playoff team.
Why? They swept the first round, beat a very good St. Louis team in 6, and are going to be 2-0 in this series. Are they supposed to win every game?
having the last change might help.... Getting McDavid out against Jack Johnson... slight mismatchYou're not in trouble until you lose at home. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
Altitude affects an athlete’s performance. Teams who practice at sea level tire 20 percent faster and transport 10 percent less oxygen in their bodies when they compete in Denver.
But a team’s overall ability matters too. Altitude gives mile-high teams an edge, but it can’t win games.
IMO Avs are the only team is this league that we won't be able to beat in a 7 game series. Sucks that they are going to the finals.
agreed. Really was hoping for the Oil to somehow win, even they are very dangerous but beatable. Colorado are just too good unless MacKinnon or someone goes down.Colorado is winning it all guys, no matter who they play. They have the best team, will likely be rested, and will have home ice advantage and at that altitude it really means something. You guys know I have been pumping the Rangers tires all year and they are a very good young team with a bright future but nobody is beating the Avs 4 times.
didn’t the blues also have 3 of their top 6 d out? would love to see a 2011 boston like run taking out the heavy favorites in the final. at least that vancouver team faced some adversity almost blowing it to chicago. They are a great team but they've had a pretty easy road in the playoffs so far. Nashville was just happy to be there and St. Louis was looking like a real problem until Binnington went down and even then they were a flukey Darren helm goal away from Game 7. Edmonton has impressed this playoffs but Colorado avoiding Calgary was a break for them as well. Both teams left in the west don't defend as well us NY or TB. And in goal its i a different stratsophere
Won't matter, good chance they are winning the cup year. Plus then they have Newhook who will just take over Kadri's production eventually. So happy that Avs are going to lose some depth soon especially Kadri

Hey man, I hope you are right. We have to get there first. If we don't get there then I want the Avs to win it all.
Colorado is beatable. They have a nobody goaltender and Johnson and Johnson. They had the easy road so far. Just so happens they are in for a rude awakening.... Unless of course, Kadri, accidentally on purpose runs over Shesty or Vasi.
Yeah, the altitude change does make a difference. I was thinking about that.Verify: Does Denver's mile high altitude really affect the outcome of sports games?
We've all heard it. Denver area sports teams have an edge because they live and train a mile above sea level. But is it true?www.9news.com
interesting read.
It also suggests teams get to Colorado as late as possible, so their sleep is affected. Edmonton was there for a while. It also says 9 days to get acclimated to the changes. They weren't there for 9 days so maybe they played themselves.
We only faced the Avs twice - Shesterkin didn't play in either game. They faced Huska in one of the games and predictably lit him up. The other one with Georgiev in net was pretty close (believe they won on an EN goal). They've yet to play us after our deadline acquisitions which made this team significantly tougher to play against.
Using that two game sample size to predict an outcome against them now is foolish. I'm not saying we're going to be the favorites or anything but they're going to have their work cut out for them
I think Tampa overall is a slightly better team than them if you take into account experience and other things.
