Flyers opted not to sign Connor McClennon.

Rangers should sign him. 19 years old. Speedy winger who can shoot. Would be a free asset ready for pro hockey.

43 goals 81 points in WHL. Sign him, let him play in Hartford.

I mean, what would the rule change possibly be? Banning open-ice hitting? Not sure what they could do besides essentially banning hard, open-ice hits if the goal is eliminating what Trouba has been doing.
Yeah, not sure about how they'd define whatever it is specifically that this person wants to eliminate.

Kuemper out for today's game. Bet you no one brings up the Oilers having to beat a backup

Also...ummm what if we beat Tampa and face Colorado's backup? lol
Of course they won't. Also the Avs pretty much have faced all all backups as well once Binnington got hurt. No offense to Mike Smith (And I know he has had some nice moments these playoffs) but he's not a good starting goalie either.

Smith has his wtf moments but hes been pretty great since the turn of the calendar.

He got roasted by Calgary in g1 too. He'll have his shot at a bounce back tonight.

Edmonton can't engage in this pond hockey nonsense. I know they can run and gun too, but no one is beating the Avs at that game.

Serious question. If he is THAT good/serviceable (and I hate that term) then WHY would the Flyers opt NOT to sign him? A team like the Flyers, pretty much bereft of talent right now.......then WHY?
WORRIED he might hurt their chances at bottoming out for a few-3 years consecutively, in order to get great draft picks? I dunno.

The argument is Colorado would smoke anyone with or without a back up and they're correct. Ingram, Saros, Binnington, Husso, Smith, Koskinen. In our case, people are too casual in saying DeSmith in and we don't stand a chance or Andersen in and we don't stand a chance. We have risen to the occasion each time. They're being disingenuous.

don't laugh tooooo hard. we had enough trouble vs Domingue. And let's get to the finals first! LGR!

Louis Domingue solved this franchise's decades old curse of not shooting enough. Ever since the team realized Domingue sucks and any shot is a good shot, they've been aggressive and effective.

Avs faced a lot backups to get here. Didn't have to face Vezina finalist Saros at all, then once Binnington was starting to stonewall them they injured him on purpose.

I'm not an expert on the situation. But here's what I gathered from research:

He's short. And the Flyers organization is a complete mess right now.

From comments I read, fans don't like this decision.

seems like the NHL is pulling for Colorado
Edmonton is like the Rangers in that series. On SiriusXM they talk about Colorado in the Cup Final with Tampa.

It's obnoxious.

I hope we win and face Edmonton. McDavid vs NYC. That would be huge ratings for the NHL.

No one gives a f*** about Tampa vs Colorado.

You'd think the NHL would want their biggest market vs their biggest star. It's like a dream come true matchup for the NHL. But they don't want it.
